Here in CA they are starting at roughly $22K for a new 07 MT Sport (base). That is before taxes/fees. Buyer incentives are coming to about 2250 so that helps.

My friend got his Touring model for 900 under invoice. But they raped him on trade in, but what else is to be expected?

Check out Edmunds.com. They will give you what to expect to pay depending on zip code and other options and crap like that. Mazda is waiving the security deposits for their leases for the next 3 months.

I may be jumping the gun here (I won't be signing the papers until tomorrow or the next day), but...

Final Price: $24,510 + tax & title
Model Year: 2007
Model (AT/MT): MT Sport (base model) in Velocity Red
Options: Performance Package, all-weather floor mats
Date of purchase (month/year): 08/2007
Location (city/state): Colmar, PA
Financed/Cash purchase: probably about $23,000
Interest rate (if relevant): 6.05% (48 months) or 6.2% (60 months)
New/Used: New

MSRP: approx $28,408
How you did it: online "best price" sites got me in touch with misc dealers
Comments: I went with the base (Sport) model to get cloth seats (better in hot summer) and better headroom (due to lack of sunroof). Performance Package added the important features I desired (traction control specifically). Desired model/features/color were so specific that I couldn't haggle further, but I'm happy with the price.

Interest rate (if relevant): 6.09%, 36-months (first-time buyer)
New/Used: New, 6 miles, plastic-wrapped, never washed/waxed! (at my request, BTW )

MSRP: approx $33,665
Comments: Before I go on, this thread helped me a whole lot, so thanks guys (Streaks, Mugatu, many thanks!!). I was the one to post the thread about the $800 rebate for July but I very nearly missed it. This was the only one 6MT, GT in VR and with the black & red interior in the region with navigation (according to Mazda's site; I checked each and every NY/NJ dealer's online inventory- had been doing this again-and-again since February).. There was another w/o nav. but that was it.. needless to say I was fearing someone would ****** this before me or that I would have to give an arm and leg to get this car from the dealership. Didn't have to! In fact, I didn't even have to negotiate AT ALL! I called the dealership, Country Mazda of Huntington (following Mugatu's advice to look for Mike) and asked for this exact car at invoice, and that's what they offered! Dealer didn't try any scams (I did months and months of research but didn't have to resort to anything), when I asked, they told me the car's condition was practically mint; I thought it sounded too good to be true.. but they weren't lying! It was as good as having it delivered straight from the factory. I had to ride a long train ride to get there (about 60 miles from Jersey City) right after work and although I was faxed the car's invoice I was prepared to walk out if there was any drama and ride the train again. I used Capital One's Blank Check to finance it, terrific idea. I couldn't have been happier with the car and the entire buying experience. Drove home that evening a very proud owner.

Hi all,

First post here. I've been looking for a good price for a 2007 model RX-8. So far these are the best quotes I've received. FYI - I live in the Bay Area:

AT Sport w/ no options - $22.8K + Tax

AT Sport w/ Performance package - $24.5K + Tax

AT Grand Touring w/ Navigation - $28.7K (including dest. fee) + Tax

What do you guys think of these quotes? Should I wait longer for something better?

Thanks!

Get on edmunds.com and send a quote out to all the local dealerships. This is what my friend did though only Fremont Mazda responded. He got his MT Touring for about $27K out the door including all taxes, fees, etc.

I believe the quote was for $23,009 before taxes and other shenanigans.

It's funny you mentioned Fremont Mazda because I got the above quotes from them. I guess I've to play hard ball with them.

I fancy the GT w/ Navigation...but $28.7K + Tax is quite high IMHO. Anybody else shopping for the new RX8s as well? I could sure use some input from you guys.

Thanks!

Here they state they are selling 07 RX-8s starting at about $22K. You should be able to get a GT for around $29K out the door. Like I said, send a quote out to all the dealers and see what they send you quote wise.
