Thanks to John and Josh for helping out with the exhaust exchange. Couldn't do it without you.

Thanks to Brian for his generosity with the exhaust. I greatly appreciate it.

np Doc, I like lending a hand and learning. I'd also like to join in when you do the transmission and breaks.

Looks like I got another week or more on my car. Racing Beat still has not mailed my Oil cooler lines

Damn John... first you never wanted to get your hands dirty, now you want to jump right in there?

I plan on replacing my clutch slave cylinder Friday... hopefully this takes care of my disengagement issues.
Maybe I'll install the REmedy Thermostat & Water Pump too.
It'll probably depend on how I feel after the slave cylinder (you guys know how much I LOVE that thing).

Gotta learn at some point...and while I still am not a fan of getting dirty...I am getting better about it. I can look at pictures and read the forum all day and not learn 1/10th of what I can in 10 minutes of watching while under the car because Im a visual learner. You can sit and explain all day but until I get that mental image in my head it really doesn't mean much.

May not be a bad idea.
I was going to use my father's garage, but it'll be nice to have some company.
Working by myself, I'll have nobody to bitch to on how much I hate the slave cylinder location

Well, the my RX8 era ended last night when I finally reached an agreement and picked up a 2010 Speed3.

Got 8,500 for the trade on the rx8, and got the speed3 down quite a bit. Not the deal of century, but a decent deal.

I should be in a position to snag a Miata this fall and be back in the fun car, modding, autocross circle here shortly.

----------

You guys getting together tonight at Doc's house?

Enjoy!

The Wankel Blues
(Melody, John Cougar’s I Need a Lover) I had a little extra time and came up with our theme song....

I need a car that won't drive me crazy
I need a car that won't drive me crazy
I need a coupé that won't drive me crazy
Some sports car that knows the meaning of a
Hey just drive down the highway

Well I've been walkin' the streets up and down
Waiting for AAA in the ghetto jungles at night
I'm so confused, my MAF clean and the CAT is new
Hey I'm so weak, won't somebody just shut off that check engine light

Electricity barely runs through the battery
And I watch the dash lights go down and down
All I can do is listen to the radio
And I got the tow truck calling me up here
Right now on the cell phone

I need a car that won't drive me crazy
Some coupé to thrill me and keep running
I need a sports car that won't drive me crazy
Some new auto that knows the meaning of a
Hey just drive down the highway

Well I'm getting wiped out by this Rotary life I'm living
I'm gonna sell this RX8, go to BMW, or head to Mercedes
And I'm not askin' for an AMG or an Alpina
I just can't deal with this shakin' Rotary
One more night on the side of the road

I need a car that won't drive me crazy
I need a car that won't drive me crazy
I need a coupé that won't drive me crazy
Some sports car that knows the meaning of a

Stig- While there is some humor in that story, I don't understand the "I just can't deal with this shakin' Rotary"... do you expect problems to just fix themselves?
Any car, rotary or not, will not function right until its repaired.
You are choosing to throw random components at it in hopes the problem will just "go away".
Sorry to sound like a dick, but I don't feel sorry one bit.

Its just like Steve in the beginning... he bitched about his car always stalling and how he was going to get rid of it.
We finally calmed him down and all of us headed to Canton to look it over. And that is when we found the stuck SSV.
So don't get irritated at the car... its going to run like that until its fixed... bottom line!

Now that I got that out of my system...
Steve- I may make a trip down to Canton (if my clutch components allow me) to grab the master clutch cylinder so I can rebuild it.
I have a theory on what could be causing my problems, and since I have to bleed the clutch again, might as well change that out too.

Alright, I am out of town this weekend. I'm out Thursday night and return Sunday night. So if you want to come down on Monday that works.

Speaking of being out of town--I have two tickets to the Browns Preseason game tomorrow night (thursday) against da Chicago Bears. I can't use them, so if anyone wants them give me a buzz.

Yea, that sticky SSV was a pain in the ***... it was just frustrating because no one seemed to know what was causing it. There is some closure in knowing which component is bad and being able to recreate the issue all of the time.

However, there is also a confidence factor... that's part of what contributed to my decision; I just lost confidence in the car which made for a rather unpleasant experience.
