How is the tranny doing? Did it fix the issues you were having with your 2nd gear synchos if my memory is correct...?

 

Tranny is doing well thus far... no regrets.
Brian was the one who lost his 2nd gear synchro... I just about lost them all
1st-4th and reverse was the worst for me.

 

Wow, the donor is proving to be a pretty reliable machine as far as the drivetrain is concerned. I'm happy its working out well.

On a personal note...I paid off my RX8 this week... just in time to trade it in.

Does anyone here deal with Mazda of Bedford at all? They called me and are willing to offer me more for my trade than Park Arlington. Meaning they would like to buy it out right.

 

I got both the boat and my 8 at Bedford. Still waitin to hear of a good set of deals for my S-Plan so I can trade the boat in for a 3 for the winter though.

 

Right now, the best I'm getting is the $500 owner loyalty, a $400 rebate for S-plan, and %0 financing for 60 months.

They *may* run some additional specials for labor day though... Finding GT Hatches though is getting tough... they have way more Speed3s than GT hatches in the region.

 

There are more Speed3's because all the ricerboi's can't afford them anymore, and the car sucks.

Also, you are only getting $400 on S-plan? Are you sure it's actually s-plan, or is it just a rebate. Because s-plan you have to have a pin # and a certificate. It's a factory discount for employees and immediate family members of employees. You do know that right? Because last I heard, you were slightly confused about that. I get S-plan through Mazda, and I know the discount varies model to model, but srsly, Megan got a $1500 on an MS3, I would think that would be equal to, or greater than on a regular 3...

So there is a bit of funny stuff going on which I will get to the bottom of.

 

Just remember these simple things...

S-plan is cost of vehicle AT invoice. You have to have a id number to generate a pin number. Get id #, generate pin #, take to dealer, get car at invoice + tax/title/license fees

The Mazda 3 GT that you looked at in Boardman on Saturday, would be $23,762 at invoice with the options it has. that's $1718 off MSRP, which I am assuming they are selling it for going by their website...

I used my X-plan when I got the RX8... think it knocked off $2500.
Which was a good thing because I just checked and our plan dropped Volvo, Mazda, Jaguar, and Land Rover, but we picked up Nissan & Infiniti.
But as Brian mentioned, you'll have a PIN and you have to prove employment (I just took my badge and pay stub).

 

See that was the issue that just happened here. We had the Xplan ...or splan (whatever) with Mazda when I got my MS3. I looked this week, allllll gone. I do have chrysler, GM, Jeep etc now. Yay?

 

According to THIS Mazda S-Plan pricing applies to "Ford and Mazda employees, their families, friends and affiliates to purchase Mazda vehicles at a discounted price without negotiation." I am pretty sure that Steve is getting in on the friends portion of that line...but Im not sure.

 

Yes, but in order to get that you still need to have a pin that will then generate a code he can use. That's what is in question I believe....

 

eh - I understand about a 1/3 of the conversations these days. X-Plan = some kind of freinds/ family plan, previous mazda owner, or supplier's discount? Or is it some other kind of discount you get from a third party?

Too much discussion of getting new vehicles makes me nervous. Vyn what are your vehicle plans? No used CTS-V

 

X/S/E-Plan pricing is for Mazda/Ford employees and their affiliates. The link I posted has a really good explanation of what it is.

 

S-Plan & X-Plan are no haggle price points provided by Mazda to employees, Mazda Motorsports members, and I gather that many companies also offer this as a perk of employment. Jon's and Megan's employers.

This is to get the car's starting price to be at invoice and have all discounts and rebates apply to the vehicle as long as you qualify.

The used CTS-V was evidence of how I didn't even consider reliability at all when looking at cars.

Now I'm leaning toward a 2010 mazda 3 hatch. Then getting a fun car later.

 

...or you could work for a really cool company like me and get discounts on every possible make. :P

Spotted another 8 tonight. Ran into the person around MLK and they disappeared somewhere around E220. Pretty sure it had the MS kit but I could be wrong.
