Probably won't be driving the Rx8 on Friday, i'll borrow a family car.

My driver side oil cooler line rusted through and dumped oil all over Stow road. Luckily I noticed the lack of oil light came on and pulled over and shut it off super quick. Thought I was an idiot for not putting enough oil in. Then noticed the trail of oil leading up to my car and the large puddle forming underneath. Pretty sure i stopped before any damage would have been done. There was some oil left when checked so i didn't lose it all. (This was the reason why i was calling)

Anyways, i'll still be there on Friday, but i doubt my car will be ready by then. I'm going to replace all the lines so i don't have future problems.

Well, I just spent an hour on the phone with Charles from BHR. What a great guy! Appreciate his help. The list I had was pretty much what he suggested. So the plan is pretty clear for the transformation.

Found the guy Eric Meyer used to make his roll cage, so I'm gonna have him do mine. We're off to the races here guys. We'll schedule the tear apart for end of October.

 

I'll bring the torches and a few tanks of propane!

Steve, I looked those up last night because I suspected that might be the problem after searching the forum for people with similar stories. Thanks for suggesting them though it is what I went with and it'll save me a pretty penny.

Jon, yeah it didn't just come loose, i wish I went to the shop this morning and they had the plastic covers off and you could see where the line gave out. Morale of the story is road salt sucks.

Now, I KNOW how disappointed all of you are that I won't be there (heavy sarcasm lol) but I'm stupid busy at work right now and I will be there till at least 7pm. Plus the Italian Festival is this weekend in Briar Hill (my old neighborhood) so I'll be there getting drunk off Dago Red and eating hot sausage and hot pepper sandwiches.

Doc, Post for sure when you're looking to do this. I swapped the AP exhaust off and had the stock one back on in about an hour and a half. Make sure you have the proper hardware though. I lost my springs that go to the stock cat and had an exhaust leak for awhile until I got the springs from Jon.
