I am just going to used the Kenwood I'm using now. That's why I've got so much extra power. I was pushing two 12" JL's.

I'm looking for a good amount of boom. I like to feel it, but my two 12's are overpowering right now and there is no balance. That's why I'd rather go a little smaller and tighter.

You can see what the speaker looks like here: http://www.grandprix.net/upgrades/audio.html

There's a mounting bracket that I have that I used to mount the speaker to the upper part of the trunk so the speaker faces through the passthrough compartment. I also painted the enclosure black so it blends in better with the RX-8's carpet.

Including box?

Only problem is that I gave my dad my old amp! That thing sure wouldn't need much.

Yeah, it certainly doesn't need a lot of power. I used it in the Tibby with a 100w mono Alpine amp until the driver dry-rotted. When I got the 8 I revived the box with a new 150w JL amp and sub. Sounds great unless you're looking for that trunk-rattling bass. Before bringing the enclosure back to life I went with a 12" JL enclosure and that thing was just too much. I'm hoping the 4080 with the volume control I've installed works better for me both acoustically and ergonomically.

Just to clarify you're talking about a JL 8W0 75W speaker and box for $75, am I right?

Well, someone was nice enough to try and steal the fender strakes off of my car sometime within the past 24 hours. Only damage done was that they cracked the plastic fender vent piece in half on the passenger side, $18 at Lou Fusz. Who knows what other intentions they had....just glad I'm only out that little bit and that they didn't get the fender strakes.

I know Dave mentioned it earlier, but is anyone else interested in hitting up the Microbrew Fest this Saturday?

I even think I heard a sigh of relief come from my rear springs when the weight was removed.

The PS2 is out, the subs and amp are going to stay, just in a different setup that is easy to remove for race day. We can still watch movies in the ol' girl.

Haha. Will the car even move in 6th?

BTW, Boostin... nice looking FD you've got there. It's a shame I'm looking for a FWD car for the winter and not another fun car, otherwise I'd love to take that off your hands.

Speaking of FDs, I think I saw a white one on Laclede Station Road last night on my way home that was marked for sale. Boostin', that's one hell of a dark blue color; I could have sworn it black. It's a very nice car; unfortunate that you're getting rid of it.

BBG, that's pretty impressive; I think my best so far is about 20.5mpg.

Terrets you get 16 b/c you drive like 90 on the hwy. I told you guys keep it under 3750 when the secondary injectors open! It makes a significant difference!

And I'm definitely going saturday.

To answer Boostin's questions, Yes - I am using the a/c. And I've averaging around 70-75 mph in 6th gear. I probably benefited from the fact that at least 95% of the miles were highway.

It looks like the weather is going to be beautiful for tomorrow's activities. What time were you all planning to head down there? I know I'll be able to get down there anytime after 12:30 or so. I know Dave will be flying in late morning and will be kinda rushed. Phil needs to figure out when he's going, who he's bringing, when he's leaving, how he's getting there, etc. Mike... well, let's just say he'll most likely have "sampled" everything before any of us get there.

Anyone else not mentioned above... that's for a reason. YOU HAVEN'T RESPONDED! New Mike and Gordon... I'm talking to you!

Just about everyone has my number. If you don't and would like to meet up with us tomorrow then post here or shoot me a message and I'd be more than happy to give it.
