Nice to meet you Kevin, I'm Brad. Sorry about the late reply I was in the middle of mid-terms last week and burning the candle at both ends. Once school and weather calm down some I'll stop by and introduce myself properly. I live in the house on Benneville with the Black Si parked at the the top of the driveway.

What have you done to your 8 so far and how you liking it?

No worries on the late reply. I don't miss mid-terms what so ever. So far all i've done is S-techs and an HKS hi-power. I have oil cooler screens and silicone hoses to go on once it gets warmer. I also have another set of wheels waiting for the weather to change again. I plan on getting in some autox this year as well as an HPDE or two, so my mods will all eventually focus around that.

I know exactly where you're talking about it. I saw your 8 buried the other day just like mine was. Any idea who owns the VR that's always parked on Morrow and Rockland?

I got a couple of mods myself waiting for warmer weather. I got the bike bug last summer so my attention has been elsewhere. I have the SP2 (as you saw), K&N V2 intake (purchased before I was an forum member), BHR Yukon Ignition System, upgraded BHR Clutch Petal, and Richard Paul Short Shifter. I am in the Air Force, so I have access to car lifts/tools/equipment at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton. If you or anyone want to tackle some major mods with ease without using jack stands in the garage/driveway.

No idea, I saw it the other day going while going for a run and thought the same thing.

Seems like we have more than a few people in the area so we should be able to get a meet going once the weather warms. Looks like I'll be heading back to work in a week or so, I am hoping that I just shoveled my last driveway before then.

Mine's been great in the snow as long as i'm not plowing the street with it. I'm pretty happy with it actually.

I have Goodyear Eagle F1 All-Season tires on now, and they're getting the job done. Obviously they're not as good as a set of Blizzaks or anything, but at least I can slog through a little bit of slush now.

Ouch slvr, that sucks. I am very fastidious about never letting my bumper scrape the snow, especially when backing out of parking spots. When I was out shoveling out from behind my car the other day, my neighbor hopped in their car and just gunned it to back out. The sound of their bumper scraping across the snow and ice was excruciating. That's a really good way to remove your front bumper from your car if you're not careful.

Parked by a WB downtown in the $3 lot off Central. Has snows on it. Anyone here?

kwikslvr, that sucks. Rotoryfx has the plastic screws for $3 a pair i believe. I'm sure kings or wyler will have them as well.

chiefmg, so you finally got word from work? How long will you be gone? We'll have to get a meet together when you get back.

YeahYeah, Doesn't it suck to see your car with that much snow?

brad, The BHR coils and the short shifter are on my to do list as well. Just need to convince my wife that they are necessary. We're moving in April, but not too far. We'll all have to get together once the weather clears up some.

I agree about kwikslvr's front, I just got done digging some ice out of the front rotor accent below the bumper.

I haven't gotten the official notice from crewing yet (they are always slow) but a guy currently on the ship said they are talking about having me join right around the end of the month. I'll be gone 3-4 months depending upon how well they are able to get their scheduling of reliefs done. Gonna miss my first wedding anniversary, but at least I was here for Valentine's Day.

Sucks you'll miss your 1st anniversary chief.

I'll probably head down to Fuel tomorrow if anyone is interested. Well, if it isn't raining or snowing.

Yeah, she's not too happy but dealing with it. One of the disadvantages of my job.

Didn't make it out yesterday for various reasons. Did finally get busy today and got my rear axle on the 7 freed up (three hours freezing in the garage in spite of the warm temps), as long as I can coax her into running for more than 10 seconds I'll get her over to storage in the next couple of days. Still have to order those adjusters for the D-Specs for the 8 too. Oh, if anyone needs it I now have a .pdf file of the Tokico instructions for them.

Received the spare tire mount kit today, install probably tomorrow. I can't say for sure until the wife weighs in if she likes the spare tire mounted, but I might have a Mazdaspeed rear strut bar for sale. I'll keep you all posted, want to give first crack to locals.

Should have space in the garage now for the 8, moved the 7 yesterday to my storage. Got it there just in time as it looks like one of the oil cooler hoses failed. I spent some time today cleaning up the oil on the floor of my unit.

Chief, did you get the spare installed? How much room do you lose?

I'll be heading to Fuel again tomorrow more than likely if anyone is thinking of going.

Spare is installed, to me we didn't lose a whole lot of space considering the overall size of the trunk.

I'm leaving later today, see you all in a bit.

I plan to take advantage of the weather and get my plugs, OC screens and new silicone hoses installed all while getting my summer wheels painted. My wife is off this weekend so i finally get to spend time with her as well, so probably no meet up for me. Fuel on Saturday will probably happen though since she'll be sleeping in most likely.

I have not personally worked on this issue before, but i did a lot of reading on the forum about it. it really looks to be a pain in the a$$ to fix. Here is a video on how to do it.

http://www.vimeo.com/7093611

if you are planning on doing it, let me know, if im free i'll lend a hand. also the way to prevent that issue is by installing an oil catch can. so after you clean it, pick up the ebay special catch can for like $12 and you'll be good from there out.

Just watched the vid and it looks like a bit of a pain, but i've seen worse. It doesn't look like much more than a few hours work though. I may go ahead and clean mine when i do my new hoses, thermostat, coils, plugs, wires and oil cooler screens. I may do this next weekend depending on weather. I'm moving the first weekend of may, so i'll be losing my driveway and small *** garage. If i do mine that weekend, you're more than welcome to stop by have a beer and watch to see if you want to tackle it yourself. Hell, as long as it's cool with my roommate, you and anyone that wants to lend a hand can swing by and do yours too. I have to work for a bit on the 13th, so i'll probably be working on it the 14th. I'll keep you posted.
