yeay i ran my first autocross!!!

ill have to get the pictures off of my friends but it was a blast. i didnt do really well but it was my first time. i didnt hit any cones and i never got lost soooo...i guess ive got that goin for me. we did have several rx-8s that were doing really well too.

 

Were you at turfway on Sunday, lycanthrope? There were a lot of RX8s there. I didn't really get to talk to anyone. It was a pretty embarrassing day for me. I missed the same gate on two runs and I didn't even realize it. lol. But I managed to redeem myself by the end of the day.

Oh well, I'm going backup to Xenia next weekend there's too many people in Cincy. We usually get about half that many people at Kilkare. On the plus side Cincy takes much better care of their novices. WORSCCA just said "Oh, you're new? Well, have fun!" and turned me loose on the track. They didn't have a mentoring program or handbooks or anything like that.

 

I was there and ran some terrible times, but it was my very first time as well. I had a blast and plan on doing some more events in the future. I may try to make it up to Kilkare this summer, but i'm not sure when. luckygrrl, i'll be sure to look for you if i head up there.

 

yea i think luckygrrly was on the grid a few cars down form me. fuztupnz is your car greay? what times did you guys run?

 

^^ you were the red shinka? for some reason I thought your car was gray. Anyhoo, My fastest time was around 52 seconds. I think you got me beat by about a tenth of a second. All the times are posted on the cincyscca site.

 

Yeah my best was 52 and change. I was the Ti Grey camped next to the green M3, not to be confused with the 40th anniversary that was leading STX.

 

Wow. I just get my car in Feb. and have been looking at doing a mentor style track session and there is one located in my back yard all along. Go figure.
By the way,
My name is Donnie Hall and I live in Alexandria and drive a 2005 RX8 BB with Shinka Package (so the dealer says). I never knew that they ran SCCA at Turfway. Go figure.

Anyone know what the requirements are to go to the Turfway event. I have a stock car and am just getting into this. Do I need a helmet?

 

Make sure you fluids and brakes are in good shape, and that's about it. I would recommend signing up for the Novice class. You can use a loaner helmet if you don't have your own. They had probably 6 or so last time.

 

I'm more than likely heading to Fuel for cars and coffee again tomorrow morning (saturday), if anyone is interested.

thanks..hey everyone, every monday night at 8, there is a real big car meet up in the TGI Friday's parkin lot off of *** road in west chester...i went last night for the first time, and it was alott of funn..so next monday, u guys should all come!!! itd be sweet to have some more 8s there...

 

yeh, they were talking about this on ohiorotaries, but I kinda forgot about it last night. I'll try to make it out next week though.
