Cars and Coffee at Fuel tomorrow anyone? They plan on having them for a while, but this may be one of the last great ones before people put their cars for the winter. Last week had a beautiful e30 M3, a couple of 70's 911's, two 356's and a handful of others. The show stopper was a new Ferrari California. The week before was a Maclaren SLR. I'll be down there as usuall probably about 9:30 or 10:00. Location here

Okay so I was watching Ben 10 the non-animated series...and Ben 10 drives a Black Mazda RX-8 with Green on the suicide doors. The car sounds like it has a V8 in it at times during the show.

Also we had been talking about a meet a couple pages back, I was the one waiting on the car to get back from paint. I got it back and I am just about finished with the car.....just waiting on an airbox to pop up somewhere. I have redone the entire damn car hahaha......

I would be down for a meet but I wont be driving my baby if so much as a drop of rain appears haha...

^ I'll be at Fuel tomorrow morning more than likely. It would be nice to see another 8 down there. It's only happened a couple of times all year. See my post 5 posts up for info.

Well, it took four days (damn holiday!) but I am finally signed on here. Just picked up an '06 RX-8 GT for the wife today. One previous owner in very nice condition. See details at this URL:

http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/ctd/1527753075.html

This makes four Mazdas for us, just this far from being a fanatic. I attended one of the Devou Park meets in my Speed6 in 2008 so I probably saw a few of you, but I was gone all last summer so haven't been to any this past year.

Congrats and welcome!. Looks like a good pick. Snow tires and wheels are a plus. I have snows ready to mount, i just haven't done it yet. I would say come on down to Fuel on Saturday (see one of post 7 or 8 posts up for details), but I'm not sure if i'll be down there or not. The crowd has thinned out with the cold weather, but still good time. If you're gonna head down send me a PM or post on the board here and i'll be sure to join you. Enjoy, hopefully we can get a meet going at some point when it warms up.

Thanks for the invite. I don't drink coffee myself, my wife does but she already told me no more car meets for her! Still I might show up, it will depend upon if I am able to kick this cold.

They have a good selection of baked goods (the brownies are like crack) and non coffee drinks as well. I hear you on the wife being sick of car meets, mine usually stays home if she's off work. Getting up early and listening to a bunch of guys talk cars isn't her thing.

I hope you beat the cold regardless man.

Thanks, I don't normally have one this long (don't normally get them anyway).

She's only been to a couple of events, but we were kind of odd-man out as everyone else was about half our age, and a lot of them had known each other for a while. Plus her eyes tend to glaze over when she listens to gearheads talk. Kind of the way mine glaze over when she talks about clothes!

OH

megan racing lowering springs are on my rx8 now
thanks to hours of sif josh and I fightin with the spring compressor for a few hours

the drop is gorgeous
i havent been able to push the limits of handling yet
but if you do get these springs do what i did, take the tire size to 225 40 18 rather then 225 45 18

the profile drop tucks the tires in perfectly without a need to roll fenders.

Oh good, someone I can go to if it turns out to be a junker! J/K Yes, we bought it from them. Dealt with Eric (sp?), seems like a really nice guy. They certainly have a lot of nice BMWs there. Nice clean shop too.

I'll ask this here since I'm still finding my way around the site. On the remotes there is a trunk button, is the car supposed to have a remote release function? If so then I'll have to look into it as ours isn't working.

@ chiefmg: there is a lockout for it in the trunk to disable the keyless entry fob from opening the trunk. its a white switch, did you check that?

I thought about getting those. You'll have to lets us know how the handling is when you get a chance to push it a little. I ended up getting S Techs for my car for Christmas. Haven't had a chance to put them on yet. Prolly going to have to wait for warmer weather. The heated garage we normally work in is currently inhabited by a '32 Ford roadster.

I thought of that, as my Protege has something similar to disable the inside cable trunk release. I had the manual out reading to see how to program the Homelink and looked it up, turns out I wasn't holding the button on the remote down long enough. It works fine. Thanks for the advice though.

What's weird is my Speed6 is the same model year with the keyless entry, but doesn't have the trunk release. I guess they thought the request button was good enough.

OKAY pics time, it was dark outside and i was trying to find a decent light source so heres the drop... remember the wheel gap is gonna be a bit bigger on my car due to the tire size change, but with that change the overall body drop is a tiny bit more.

all pictures taken with my iphone so the quality isnt there ha

Gotcha. I keep my dealings with dealers to a minimum, basically I called to see if the car was available, we test drove and bought it, then picked it up once the check came in. Since it wasn't a BMW they just wanted to get rid of it so it was a good price. As long as the car doesn't fall apart in a week then I'm happy.
