Yeah - they suck and are a group of closed minded old farts, lol. At least at the Lebanon, OH office. I tried for a custom plate and they said no, it was offensive and I heard their manager plain out say she "didn't get it" and my explanation was "plain old stupid". F-them. It was "PH8TAL", oh well. I gave them my opinion on the level of their stupidity before I left that day then did my business online...which I highly recommend if at all possible.

That is horrible Kytten!

My question is: If my wife and I move back next year, can I use my old plates that I had on my first RX8 to put on my new 8?

Because I like my personalized plated and it fits the car! 9KREDLN

Order it online. I had no issues with UNPRIUS.

PH8TAL might have gotten nixed regardless as it has to do with death in a sense. Usually, death, violence, sex, drugs, and racism are denied.

Moete.
You may be able to use them still. It's worth a call to find out for sure. I know you can transfer plates from vehicle to vehicle, but i'm not sure if the have to stay registered or not.

That is what I am afraid of. I always got asked what does 9KREDLN mean when I was out and about at gas stations or whatever. And I want to use it again. I still have the plates in my box of car stuff in perfect condition. I did have 2 cars after my first 8 that were Ohio tagged.

Really thought about this one and played with the Ohio DMV plate site. Since I wanted the Rotary International symbol on the plate, you give up one number/letter to fit the logo in. So I came up with ROTATE minus the T and E.

I had a few others, which I knew wouldn't pass review. Yeah, the Lebanon DMV site is crap. The Mason one is better, but all DMV sites are run by friends of people who get elected to office in Ohio.

Anyone have a S1 red 8 with the number 41 on the window? I think the license said "Stkbkr" or something like that. It was parked up front at Bucks on Montgomery Rd Friday night. I parked next to it.

I'll bring my office camcorder, which will take a nice video.
it's a bit too big to take vid while driving, but if you want to do some drive by at the park setting up camera by the road, that would work well.

Kinda lame. You didn't miss anything, other than Mike Valentine's Carrera GT, Glen's Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale, Jason't GT3, my buddies, Z4M, a couple of Morgans, A cleanly modded S2000, a clean G35, some nice old Triumphs, a clean GTO vert, and all of the other regulars.

What, no Corvettes?

I have a Kodak HD camcorder with a Fat Gecko mount. The Gecko sticks to anything and probably can pull out some small dents with the suction it has.

I did a quick video with it with the camera mounted about mirror high drivers side and inside windshield. First attempt so it's not that great. Wind noise was coming in over the mirror. If I mounted the camera on the left rear near the tire I probably could pick up some more exhaust.

I need to get out and do more videos. Unfortunately, I have a house-full of people on the 20th, so I won't be at Fuel or the picnic. If anyone wants to meet during the week out around Maineville, I know of some decent roads we can hit.

Hey everyone..

Need some second opinions..

My car has been hard starting since this past Tuesday. I bought a battery charger for it. I checked the battery voltage with my DMM and it's at 10.4 - 10.6 volts. So I hooked up the battery charger to it for an hour or two and it read 12.4volts. I was like ok cool now it's charged. So I checked it again a few seconds later and the voltage kept decreasing to 12v and lower. I personally think it's my battery and needs to be replaced. The battery is new and was replaced March 2010. Batteries don't last long out here in AZ because of the heat. The hard starting is getting worse and worse little by little. The charger didn't help.

My car is an 07 GT with 32k. I prolly need to replace the coils and plugs too..right? I don't think the have ever been changed. I bought the car last November with only 19k on the odo.

Let me know what you guys think. Also I was planning on seafoaming the car today or next weekend.

Thanks!

Could be a battery moete. A charged batter should read closer to 13-14 volts when charged and should not drop off on it's own. Do you have something installed that is constantly drawing current? Also check your main batter ground and all chasis grounds. If you have a loose ground, it will kill a battery.

It won't hurt anything to change coils and plugs. You're right about at the mileage they commonly fail. Do decent wires too, or go with the BHR unit.

I really think its a bad battery. I will check my connections when it gets a little cooler out tonight.

I really want the BHR kit. I really need to replace the coils, plugs and spark plugs. Car actually needs a good tune-up to be honest with you.

I guess I will be forking over some money this week replacing the battery.

Depends on the charger, but if it was around 10v when you put it on, it should have charged up to capacity in less than an hour I'd imagine. If it's your daily, it shouldn't be that low unless it's bad or you have something draining it (bad ground could be the issue). Make sure both your posts and terminals are clean and that the terminals are tight. A loose terminal will wreak havoc sometimes.

Looks like everything checks out. Guess a new battery is in order. I will see if that battery is under warranty since it's only 1.5 years old.

I want the BHR kit pretty damn bad!

What is the best way to check the coils? Just pull them out and do a visual check? I feel like a noon asking these questions. It's been forever since I've done all this to my 8. I know I did all this back in 08.

There really isn't a visual check. White spots on the back mean pretty much nothing. There's a coil test procedure that i've seen pop up here and there, but there's no way to check them under load that way, so it's pretty useless IMHO.
