Aren't they mostly using a test based on vacuum? What were your symptoms again?

Give me a couple of days to get the readout to you. I left it at another house about an hour away.

We're giving $600 core back on this one as long as it's a core that has not been opened and is a 6 port renesis. That does not include shipping.

Yes, I did the engine vacuum voltage test here. This was 4K miles after my compression test numbers below. The LIM is pulling 15.5" Hg currently.

Mileage 77,017
BARO Voltage 4.026
BARO Voltage @ Idle 1.828

Here are my numbers at 73K using the Mazda compression tester:

Rear Rotor @ 294 RPM
6.8 6.9 7.1

Front Rotor @ 285 RPM
6.8 6.7 6.7

Club member IOANNIStsa made me this chart below which shows just how bad my engine is. Since then, I have run 2 cans of Zoom Zoom thru the LIM, 2 cans of BG44K thru the gas tank, 1 quart of LC FP+ in 4oz doses thru the gas tank, and 1 quart of LC LC20 in 2oz doses thru the oil.

I had the throttle body off last weekend to clean it, and pumped another 1/2 can of zoom zoom down into the UIM to soak the SSV because I have thrown the P2070 a couple of times now.

The engine fires right up and pulls hard now. I'm taking it to the track on the 29th so that Dannobre and myself can romp the crap out of it.

My dealership has had a change of heart it seems, and looks like they will pursue the reman for me now. So, I may have an extra engine one day. I will be placing the Mazmart rebuild in for sure, and storing the Mazda reman or selling it.

Paul, I've been thru this entire thread...sounds like you guys are doing a PHENOMENAL job with rebuilds and appear to be the authority on the rotary.. as such, I don't feel stupid asking you like I would posting this question in the general board.. I'll def keep you in mind for my future rebuild needs..

I'm very new to the rotary engine and my 'research' did not include terms '4port' vs '6port'. Please, explain this to me in how they differ in build and performance. Thanks a lot!

The 6port engine is in the MT and the 4 port is in the auto, beyond that I have no idea so perhaps I shouldn't be commenting. Anyway, I'll be contacting Paul when I can scrap some money together. 113k and compression is shot in rotor #2. Good times... =(

I can make one 'Ready to go' for you. We should build you a wicked one with renny rotors and ceramic seals, tricked intake sleeves etc .

Paul.

Lol!!!

Hmm ... ceramic seals ? But I am not so sure if it's worth the cost on an Newbie autox car (future AutoX car)

Renny rotors ... 10:1 compression ... not sure if I wanna do that yet ....

I wanna street port the intake and exhaust. But I know that S5 NA housing got that stupid diffuser which makes exhaust porting very difficult. But I don't want to use Turbo Housing cuz if I do I might have to worry about plugging the coolant passage ...

I dunno ...

It's not that complicated. Budget is the determining factor. You can make 'stupid' power if you want to. I may do a trick F-Renn-kenstein motor for my 89 GTU-S when I decide to bring it out.

HA HA! I just coined a new word .

lol ! Everything is about $$$$$

Well, my goal is ---- trying to get most power out of NA ECU, Im not ready to "touch" any of the aftermarket tuning yet ... at least for now.

Lets see, if I want one of the following, how much would it be (estimate?) :

A: Bone stock Rebuild engine, nothing fancy, just stock stuff.

B: Same as above with Ceramic apex, I can have Mazda drop ship those if you guys dont have them in stock(Im in their MMS program)

C: Option A + Street port the intake + Exhaust

D: Option A + B + C !

E: F-Renn-kenstein BRRRWAAAARRRRR !!!!

You can pm me with the price. just try not to give an heart attack (especially the Option E lol)

We are in the process of building one 6 port engine presently. I have had to turn a number of people away due to Rick's schedule. Anyone interested in this one should contact me soon to specify details like new rotor housings or not, RE-medy water pump and thermostat or not etc.

Pricing starts as low as $2100 plus core.

Paul.
