I'm having a software issue with my AP.

The AP manager and updater will not detect the AP when I download the program using the links on page one of this thread (1.2.2.2 and 1.2.5.0 respectively) but when I install both from the CD the AP is found no problem (1.2.2.1 and 1.2.5.1 respectively).

Thoughts?

EDIT : I downloaded 1.2.2.2 through the email and it worked.

Are you aware that now Jeff is the sole AP distributor for the rx8? No need to be sad!

Nope, wasn't aware of that, it appears to not have been mentioned in this thread before now.

Cool, thx

Well, I'm still poking around to see where I should put my dollars first. I just got an '04 AT which, AFAIK, is stock and will probably get only minor changes as far as power goes (sounds like for me the most reasonable 'stage 1' power upgrade for an AT car is to get an MT car).

I'm also looking into putting the dollars into suspension upgrades.

I like the idea of an AP and custom tuning, but I'm not sure how much sense it makes with a stock setup. Any opinions on the benefits of this?

The other reason I'm considering an AP is because I'd like to get something like a 'valet mode'. I've got kids who need to learn to drive, but I'm not sure I want to give them the upper half of the RPM range right away.

the AP will do a few things to improve the life of an engine. Increased OMP flow, cooling fans kicking in sooner, clean up fuel trims, etc.

It's going to come down to which you want first, suspension or engine management.

Ok...so Im currently waiting on my second tune from Jeff and just found out that it is pretty possible that I will be moving before I having a chance to install it on my car. Normally I wouldn't fret too much; however, I will be moving from a city with an average elevation of 600' to a city with an average near 8,000'. I assume that the elevation change and the move away from the lake is going to have a serious impact on my tune; however, I'm not very smart when it comes to these things and could be waaaay off. Can some smart person weigh in on this for me?

Nope. The RX-8 has a BARO sensor. It will compensate on its own.

Hey, i bought the APand i submited calibration on sept the 16th, now from reading the forums and asking diffrent people i understand that the queue is quite long , but its been more than 2 months and I'm starting to get worried. Now i did get confirmation the same day that my calibration was accepted and i sent twice mails asking whats going on(first was after the first month and the second was after the second month) and i got same copy paste answers... now can anyone tell me that is undergoing a wait for a calibration how long he has been waiting because soon enough its going to be 3 months and longest i've read people wait is like 50 days.

I'm not a person that complains, but at this point i really am clueless of what to do.

I sent mine around the same time, got the confirmation- mail. Haven't heard a thing since that. Now I'm going away for one month, if its not there when I come back, I wont be very impressed...

/\ Reminds me of an old trick played on apprentices . They used to be sent down the road for a 'long wait' .
Seems every AP calibration service comes with one for free .

No, not every.
Just this last 160 out of 700.
They all came in a bunch as I had other obligations.

Everyone,

Some of you might be aware that I have been handling initial communication for ap @ mazdamaniac for all MMCCS communications. While my request has not been a huge issue, I have seen an increase in communications outside this address.

I'm asking that all MMCCS customers to not email me at my Black Halo Racing email address or PM me on RX8club.com regarding the status of their tune. As the MMCCS instructions state, all communications MUST come through the provided email address. This is important because I need to be able to see previous email correspondence, what I've said, and how long it's been since my last communication with you. We also require all communications include your 11 questions somewhere in the email so we can match you up. People love to change their email address or other information to the point where it causes problems.

This does not apply for any other questions or comments. My email is included in my signature to give everyone easy communication access. This policy is to ensure that you get the best quality service that can be provided.

First time I got it was during the Tri-State Meet the morning we were heading out from Laughlin.
We talked about it briefly, and you gave me the impression that it was not a big issue.
From what I know, it has something to do w/ hard-starts, so I just wrote it off as cold weather.
After clearing the code, it would return in a couple days, then it would go away after a few days.
I was just searching this forum for P0610, and found some threads where guys had to replace their ECU because of it.
I know you have the AP setup to "ignore" some ECU codes.
Could you add this code to that list for me, and is there any dangers in doing so?
I'll be at the Dyno day in So Cal next week.
Jeff,

I'm also getting this code. Can you mask it in my ECU as well? Thanks,
-Brandon (BMAK)

Hey Jeff I sent in my data in at the beginning of January, received my email acknowledging you had received my data and it was all correct two days after that. I haven't received my calibration yet and I know you're busy, but I was just making sure it didn't get lost in the sending process or what so I figured I'd check. Thanks

Do i need a new o2 sensor? Can i still drive the car or will it mess it up since the 02 sensor is not working right?
This exact thing happened to me yesterday. AFRs stuck on 14.7 and CEL P0131. Any further update?
