If you are going FI, you need to have them welded open. The instructions for ur kit say so.

What? What kit has that as instructions?

On my base FI calibration, I leave the S-DAIS as it comes from the factory.
Then, depending on the performance as shown on the dyno or datalogs, I move the opening points around as needed.

On my own personal setup (35r, p-trip cover, 82 a/r-stage 5 turbine), I leave the SSV and APV alone and keep the VDI shut.

On the small turbos (GReddy, 2871, TD06-20g, etc), I sometimes leave the APV shut also.
Depends on the torque curve.

Do you like to tune with max desired boost, or do you like to start smaller then build up?

To be totally honest I don't find the new streamlining to efficient - the old method must obviously been very turbulent

Like last time, you were quite busy, so when I sent a log very late in the night, I could not get your updated map because I really needed 2-3 hours of sleep before going to work.

Suggestion:
Get all the logs and send new map back on email some days later(or for us to pick up somewhere else). If you check logs when you're online that we havent screwed up, and then sit down the next day and do the "real work".

Perhaps you aren't finding it efficient because you aren't able to utilize the schedule as it exists?

Most people get two or three updated calibration per session!

If you are not able to utilize both sessions (on the days where I have two sessions), then you should be able to budget 5 minutes at the beginning and come back 90 minutes later or so to get the update.

I am playing with the schedule now and will probably add a session that approximately coincides with the 18:00 - 21:00 window in Asia (02:00 - 05:00 AZ time) at some point in the week.

^^I stay in Norway, so its usually not that difficult(GMT+1). I tried to take contact and didnt get it, I guess it was just bad luck.

Actually I'm coming to the US this week for a holiday, I'll take a flight down to you and sit on your lap next session....

Jeff, I bought my AP back in 2009 from you. Im currently having my esmeril kit installed and want to use it. I saw you have a $99 sale for calibrations.

Can I just download your FI base map and join in for one of the Oct. sessions after paying you the $99 fee? My shop is hoping for completing the project next week.

SCHEDULE CHANGE:

Always check the schedule HERE

The regularly scheduled tuning day will be moving from Tuesdays to Wednesdays, beginning October 19th.

There will be no scheduled tuning the first week of November, which coincides with SEMA in Las Vegas.
The new Wednesday schedule will resume the following week.

Thanks!

Mike, I bought a new Esmeril kit as the 8 needed some more power. Ive had it for a few months, but am now just getting it installed. The shop has done work on my E90 M3 is doing the install. They are pretty efficient and do great work!

Jeff, I went to go and update my calibration 6 month window through your site where it says $99 special, and at the PayPal window it shows $299.

Can you let me know whats going on so I can jump into Wednesdays session?

Jeff, can you please pm or send me an email? The tune you sent to me on the 19th for my base map will not allow the vehicle to run. I swapped the 1k injectors to the right spot and then installed the tune.
