Cobb AccessPORT Discussion
ok. now i recieved the AP, and i plug it into the OBD dongle and have the key off, and then i turn it on once it gets to the install screen, and press install, but it says that it cannot communicate with the ECU. i dont know what is wrong as everything is plugged in correctly. does anyone know what could be the issue?

and then turn it to on and wait for all the little lights (dash lights) to settle and then try to install ... should take about 5-8 seconds or so but just wait for 10
hope that works
tried that several times.
so i asked MM what was wrong, and he said that the dongle is broken.i guess that has been happening a lot from cobb. uhhh, i hope it doesnt take that long to get. but at least i have the unit. just cant wait to use it.
mine had the same issue i was there tinkering with it for about a half hour then i gave up went inside drank some water i didnt want to thinkm ine was broken then it finally connexted it =]]
well actually the thing is that the dongle with the firmware is actually newer than what is on the AP, so Cobb is sending me a firware update and everything should work properly then.

He had an AP that wouldn't connect to any cars. Then he decided to try w/ a different dongle and it worked. Turns out the firmware on the dongle was the issue.
Seems that COBB decided to upgrade the firmware on the dongle and now it doesn't connect to the 8. I'm sure it will be fixed soon.
The Cobb unit continues to impress me. We had a dyno day on Saturday (mustang dyno was acting up a bit and reading really low) BUT I increased power on consecutive pulls with Jeff changing maps.
I ended up +19 hp from my first pull. I'll of course hit up another dyno in the near future to confirm but car feels super smooth, seems to pull better in mid range and is even getting better mileage. (it was running PIG RICH on oem flash)

so everything installed properly, and did my first run. STFT at idle was between 2 and -2 90% of the time. AFR's at cruise and idle were around 14.7 to 15.1 and under WOT the it was from 12.9 to 14.

I give up.
