Cobb AccessPORT Discussion
Jeff's avatar no longer says Banned under it
I got my EFIDude today and did a quick run from 3 mph to 45 mph and my AFR was good up to 6000 rpms then it was way too rich. It was 14.5-16 up to 4000 then went to 13.5's, then right at 6000 it went to a range of 11.1-11.7, mostly the lower 11's like 11.1-11.3 all the way to 8450.
With a good tune how much more power (a guestimate) do you think can be obtained in that 6000-8500 area?

i know my pcm is still building fuel trims since i am only on my second run since flashing to the MM base map, but my AFR's are still around 12.7 to 14.4 at WOT. but should i change out my cat to my midpipe? i dont want to burn up this brand new cat mazda just gave me.
its not useless. people can still give advice on what maps to go to based on STFT or other things. i think that just because jeff isnt here that they see that it is useless to post on here, but it isnt. i know that i am no where near a tuner, but i still know alot about tuning and how to, so if anyone has any questions, i can try to help also.
I know that when my car was stock it ran really rich and was making very low numbers on the dyno, then when we added the full exhaust with no cats and K&N filter the AFR went leaner and the car made 18.5 more rwhp with just those two upgrades.
I just looked at my old dyno and it was around 10.5-11 then after upgrades it went to 11.5-12. I think my car likes leaner.
With the 11 files Jeff sends with the AP can you change the fuel for different RPM's or just a broad across the board change?

The load was pretty much 100% from 2200-8400, with maybe 2 short area where it was at 93-97%.
Got the new maps =) At WOT I go from mid 13s to high/mid 12s (as I climb up the RPM) but at low load and idle I'm at 14.7 I'm not sure if that's too lean or not because I remember reading it should be like 14.1ish...
I'll sleep when I'm dead.
Checked it. I still need to download their viewer so I can look at your files.
That's my implementation in a nutshell.
Yes. Everyone please do this.
Especially the people that are receiving their APs this week because your AP wont work otherwise.
Allegedly.
The error is meaningless. It will still work.
The range of calibrations in a set are just designed to get the MAF to report correctly. Nothing else.
Changing the target lambda must be addressed in tuning.
That is why there are "1b_X" and "1c_X" calibration sets.
Look for "1d_X" and "1e_X" in the near future.
That's pretty much perfect for my calibrations.
Because it enables you to have lean targets in every RPM range. The OE PCM tuning shoots for a very rich value above 4k RPM when cruising.
But that has been addressed a bunch of times before over the last several years.
My ding ding dong.
And Here I was thinking I was the only fan of Gunther...
BTW - I will be in Miami on Friday, at Sebring on Saturday and back in Miami on Sunday and Monday (for 1/2 day).
I sent you an e-mail on 4/23 from arangoa79@aol.com. Check it when you get a chance.

I use the Scanalyzer and it ROCKS. Not the cheapest of solutions but you get what you pay for..
There's only one guy in my area that has a Cobb -- will check with him. I'll check out the Scanalyzer in the meantime. Thx
So, probably not this week, unfortunately.
I'd get some sort of Datalogger. People seem to like the EFIDude thing.
I prefer the Hymee sCANalyzer.
Wont hurt.
Like MM said the EFIdude is OK, it's only $150 so it's a bargain. If you want to see it's functionality check out post #2046 in this thread. I'm happy with it, it's good for now untill Cobb (if they do) come out with their own for the AP.
I like the 13.5's, thats where I wanted to have mine set. I wanted to see if he could get it to stay around 13.5's all the way to 9300, but 12.5's is fine and much better than my 11.1-11.39 after 6k.
That's a reasonable price... will be sure to check it out
