Was going to monitor my AFR on the way to work but my AccessPort wigged out about 5 minutes into the drive. Couldn't connect. I might have nudged the connection, not sure.
Think I"ll just use my scanalyzer for live data from now on, probably easier to just glance over at my laptop anyways.

I used velcro. Works for both the AP and the dongle. Pulled the ODBII connector out of it's bracketh, plugged in the AP dongle, and velcroed that to the top of the ODBII connector bracket. Wrapped the USB cable around the steering column cover a couple times, and velcroed the AP next to the radio display. I'll take pics this weekend.

Question

Quick question, if my RP supercat fails, other then a cell which I can get rid of with the AP, are there any other performance or mechanical issues it can cause?

kris im guessing you have another USB cable for when you need to load updates from your computer? or else it would be a pain to have to unwrap the cable from the steering wheel and stuff...

If it fails, it will clog and reduce performance.
It will also get overheated and burn things you park on top of.

ummm, that would be bad.

MM: when it does fail (because I'm sure it will at some point) will the CEL still come up then we clear it / remove CAT or does the AP stop the light from popping up. Sorry if this has been covered, I've tried to keep up with this thread

The CEL suppression in the AccessPORT is still a little buggy.
My calibrations contain an instruction to turn off all the emissions CELs, but there is still a chance they will sneak through.
I'm certain that future updates of the AccessPORT firmware from Cobb will address this in the near future.

is it possible to have it come on for those of us with cats? In other words to disable the supression programming?

^^^ yup. Like MM said; there will be decreased performance but if I'm not paying much attention, it would be nice to have a big ugly yellow light staring me in the face

Well it must be working on my '04. No CAT for 400 miles and no CEL. I did however notice that the outer edges of the Supercat were starting to clog once I had it off. That pipe is now part of my garage decoration for awhile.

Question

When going to the dealer for some work. Do I switch to the stock map or uninstall the AP? Don't want them to know.

put about 100 miles on with 1b map on and finally started getting on the accelerator a bit. I was seeing lots of low 12 and some high 11's. Hmmm...

Also, at this point does STFT not matter anymore? at idle I'm at -2 - -3.

Yeah, it seems that even for the folks that were really lean on the original series, the 1b_x are often too rich.
Tends to be the '04 and '05 people more than the later years.

If that's true, then there is no point to this forum.
