I believe even that isn't 100 %.... it's more about your individual afrs and if you experience any detonation than anything. Not to say you should hot rod it around.

I just got new leading spark plugs because mine where 'plugged' causing CAT issues, etc....

Anyways, they pulled the P0301 code for misfires, is this blocked by the AP as I did not see a CEL?

Secondly, and more importantly, I am only on 4.0.1 but how will the new plugs possibly effect my tune, and future tunes? Should I be fine running 4.0.1 still, or should I be concerned and look for anything with the AFRs?

Thanks.

Edit - Reading that anything that doesn't affect the AFR's need no re-tune, the AFR's are taken from the first O2 sensor in CAT are they not? Would having more 'burnt' fuel from the new plugs change the AFR? Perhaps I am just be overly cautious.

Has anyone run into an issue where they press the Ok button to start logging and the AccessPort locks up, so that it not only doesn't record the log; but doesn't do anything else either?

Quick question guys.....I know the stock AP stage 1 maps clearly state that it should only bee used on "otherwise stock vehicles with a stock intake and stock or cat-back exhaust" because having mods such as a midpipe could make the car run too lean etc....which in turn can lead to engine damage. I downloaded the map once before while having an RB midpipe, full exhaust, and bhr kit and noticed a significant increase in accerlation and throttle response, but quickly uninstalled it after reading these warnings on the cobb website lol.

My question is....what if you use this map with a revi intake and bhr ignition kit. Do you think it would be harmful to the engine ?

You can run the Cobb Stage 1 calibration if you want to. It might even be relatively correct for the car.
However, it is typically way too lean and the timing is way too advanced and you will most likely experience detonation at some point.
The likelyhood that it has your MAF calibration right is slim to none.

And, most importantly - your butt is not a dyno. Simply loading the "stock-style" map probably would have felt faster to you.

I think what he was pointing out was that your point has already been discussed over and over and over again.

It is generally considered bad etiquette to walk into a discussion and demand that the participants provide you with a synopsis because you were too impatient to catch up to the discussion that preceded your participation in it.

Sorry if this question has been beat to death, I promise I tried searching...

Based on all the mod combos you have built maps for, and based on pure data, is there is recognized "best" setup for an RX8? (naturally aspirated)

(Let me further clarify, BASED ON PURE DATA FROM BUILDING THOUSANDS OF MAPS... I know there are a million threads about mods and peoples opinions on best mods)

Leave it stock.
Remove the catalytic if you can, seeing you are in CA maybe not an option for you.

Buy BHR Coils when OEM's are fried.

End of Line

Remove the cat? Hmmmz... i thought it would create a mini loss in power when it is a straight pipe? Especially for autos...

Would a high flow cat be better?

^^^ I believe the 8 doesnt Flow enough air for it to even matter... As for a power loss between a midpipe with a high-flow cat or not...
