Cobb AccessPORT Discussion
As I've stated everywhere around here a dozen times: No one will have their subscription expire before they are properly calibrated if it is my fault that it is taking so long.
I only expire people that either abuse the process (constant bad submissions, long pauses before submitting follow-ups, suddenly submitting for a change a year after their subscription is "expired" or after getting near the end of the process and suddenly changing their setup, etc.) or reach the end and then come back to the table for more after a long period of inactivity.

It has taken some time to debug this problem which is now repaired but now my car is away for the winter. I do have some data logs I can send out to you and I'm hoping that I got them reasonably correct. I'll get them out to you but can't try a new tune till spring when the car is out.
Please don't cancel my subscription....
Still looking forward to your magic!
Seems to be about the timeframe.
I sent mine in Sept 2nd and got my confirmation on Sept 8th.
Waiting patiently. I guess that happens when you buy during the rush.
I was going to put my car away for the winter this past weekend, but I kept the insurance on it in the hopes I'll get to do one tune with a custom map before the snow flys. My subscription will be up before spring.

PS Jeff, I never did receive any info for my logs on my previous vehicle. And I've already sent you new logs for my new car. just wondering if you got my messages? I'm Dean M-P, by the way...

MazdaManiac,
Sent an email last Nov 10 because couldn't get the acessport working but didn't receive any reply yet.
"Hello Mazdamaniac,
I just received my accessport for my RX8 JDM 2006 5MT. This is what I did so far:
1. Installed the latest AccessPortManager - version 1.2.2.2
2. Installed the latest AccessPortUpdater - version 1.2.5.2-13778
3. Installed the latest firmware (version 1.6.1.2-13774) via AccessPortUpdater - it just went automatic when I connected the AccessPort to my computer
4. Connected the AccessPort to my RX8 via ODB
5. Clicked Install
6. It says that it was not supported and gave me this code N3YK"
Thanks,

I haven't caught up to last week's e-mail yet.
Looks like your car has one of the three unsupported JDM ROMs. Can you follow the instructions for a "ROM DUMP" that follow that error message and send me that file? Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. ROM dump is where I connect the AccessPort to ODBII and ask it to backup?

David

When you do the install routine and it fails, scroll down and it will ask you if you want to do a dump of the OE ROM for analysis. You then grab that file off of the AP with the AP manager and e-mail it to me.
Hello mazdamaniac,
I just sent the ROM dump to your email as an attachment with my previous email with all the details of my vehicle.
Thanks again for the help.

Not being able to find a way to run a search that doesn't give me dozens of pages of false positives, let me threadjack for 2 seconds and ask what is the next option for folks who missed AccessPorts while they were in production?

I am not trying to be rude, and I respect the process. I just have no clue why it was rejected and was just asking for an extra opinion.

I don't know what you did before to cause the rejection notice. I don't keep a copy of rejected calibration requests.
I keep copies of the emails that I respond to. I've had people send incorrect submissions only to send the corrected version later. I work from the oldest emails to the newest ones so sometimes I will respond to an issue that has already been handled or otherwise corrected. Best thing to do is check the attached message as that is what I was working off of. We receive hundreds of emails every week with questions, complaints, submissions and everything in between so I don't always have the ability to sift through them all for follow up responses.
If you got a confirmation email then you're in the queue. If not, resubmit with the corrected information and I'll take care of it.
