You should leave the car in the mechanical state in which you intend to drive it.
I won't be able to determine what is contributing to what in that manner.
Unless this device causes a MAJOR change in the way the vehicle operates, it wont be noticeable to me.

One more question: I am driving with the base map for more than a week now (~300 miles) and whenever I park my car I start noticing a smell that was not there before... it's not the smell of gas, but kind of like burned oil or something. I don't really mind it, in fact I kind of like it, but I don't think it was there before. I have a stock cat, and the question is whether this smell is normal due to increased amount of oil sprayed?

That is a new one.
There is nothing in the calibration process that might cause increased odors. At least, not directly.

that would be pretty cool though.

Can you dial up the new car smell in mine? It's starting to get old and I'd like to increase the amount of new car smell injected in mine. I think this will increase overall longevity and resale value.

Thanks!

Jeff,

I got my second submission rejected due to the 11 deadly questions being filled out incorrectly. We have had this problem before and I don't know why they keep getting rejected when you have said they look fine in this thread prior. Can you PM or email me as to what I need to correct. Thanks.

Are you getting a rejection that they are not correctly answered or that you did not include them at all?

You have not provided answers to the 11 deadly questions as
required for our submission process.

I had this problem with my first submission as well and came here for help.
I didn't really get an answer to what was wrong... I just got my first set of calibrations.

The issue could be a problem with my outlook client as my anti-virus was injecting text into the body and I think was deleting the body of the email.

I've been including this information in the recent rejection emails I've been sending out in case it's an issue with me and not with an incorrect submission.

Please resubmit your message and if you can send it in plain text that seems to be the fix. Otherwise you can always attach your 11 questions as a file in addition to sending them in the email body.

Resubmit, send questions in plain text and attach them as a file. I know it's not part of the instructions but humor me.

Todd, let me know if you need any more people to test. I know my submissions were also having the problem of the body disappearing, but didn't seem to happen on plain text emails.

No problem. They are re-submitted in addition to a word file with the 11 deadly questions in it.

If i have a stock motor(with only a aem cold air) will the C.A.P. be worth it, will it give me any gains. cause im at 90k on my rx8 so that is too high of mileage to put a super charger or a turbo.

Weigers,

First set of benefits it to the keep alive stuff, fans for cooling and oil injection increase. Fans you can hardwire, the oil injectors you have to have something like AP. I used to premix, do not any more, unless on track, then just a fraction. Like with the old outboards, oil injection (once they figured it out) works better then premix because you are not saturating everything with the right mixture for wide open throttle.

I loaded the MM base tune, quit pre-mixing, and the car started slowly running better and better, exhaust got sharper and sharper, and butt dyno said we were happy. I ran a track event a month later, car ran better than ever. I am one tune into the MMCCS, and the car is still running better and better. The queue is kind of long right now, but that is worth it as well.

So, for a 90K mile car, sure, I did it with an 80K car, maybe 40K on motor, and am happy. I did not get a big cooling benefit yet though from fans. I run right at the thermostat opening point. I still have the factory thermostat in, the cooler one is on the shelf in the garage. I did the $100 stuff and cooling problems, in Florida, went away.

I would do it again.

Mike
