Cool. If we need to exchange anything, I'll set it up.

Jeff, e-mailed you the results of the new map. Everything is leaner and feels better, WOT running through lower gears is still a bit rich though (mid 11s-mid 12s).

Hey Jeff,

It's been about 5 days ago that I put money down for the AP. I've not received any updates about the status of my order since.

Is there an issue that needs resolving? What did I miss in the checkout process?

For reference, my email is john1988 at gmail.com.

As it says on the order page -

Orders are processed in the sequence in which they are received. Orders will typically ship within 5 to 10 days from receipt of payment. Shipping times vary by destination.
That said, yours is shipping this afternoon.

Purchasers will receive an e-mail when their unit ships with their tracking number, receipt and instructions.

Thanks!

Thanks.

Yeah, I'm aware that it'll ship 10 days later. But since dropping $730 for it, I've only got an automated response from Google Checkout. I'm sure you'll understand my anxiety if I get absolutely no word from a living breathing human being as to what happened to my money.

There are no living, breathing human beings over here! Didn't you watch our WEB cam last night?
We are machines!

Sorry of the anxiety.

I'd send a confirmation personally for every order, but that was getting cumbersome and I thought the Google system was pretty concise.

I don't keep an inventory. I have a rolling order from Cobb. I get them delivered every week.

There's more oil usage than I expected. Could be because of how I use the car. Not a daily driver, whenever I drive it I warm it up and usually drive combined small 20-30 minute cruises with some hard redlining thrown in. Probably redlined 2-3 times each time I use it. But I seem to use a lot more oil than anyone here indicated. The dipstick is a bitch to read anyway, but I think I'm doing it right :P

Will the fact that I'm running rich at WOT and such add to oil usage, or is oil and fuel completely separated, and oil just controlled by rpm and such?

The car feels really fresh and great though, when you drive it like it's supposed to it feels really really fast to me, so if there's something wrong anywhere it would have to be an odd one. I think I need to write down numbers, might just feel like it's using more oil as I never checked with my old car as it didn't use any, now I'm doing every other fillup, psychology

I add a lot of oil metering to the tune.
If you want less, I can turn it down.
Oil is good for the seals.

Nah, I'll rather spend money on oil than rebuilding my engine in a year, so I think it's just a good idea to keep it how you've set it up I just wasn't sure if my numbers compared to others. I'll write down how many kms goes until I have to add another half quart, it may be that it just feels like more than it is.

I use about 1/8 quart every 200 miles. Just a little under.

You must be under heavy calculated loads by way of heavy right foot.

My usage is lower than that

the AP and race gas? I know running race gas in a NA vehical does nothing to improve the HP. BUT if I want to track the car and decide I want to run race gas is it possible the logg some data and create a new map for NA 8's using higher octane fuel for track days. Basically will the race gas make the car run a bit richer allowing for a stronger tune.

I suppose the race gas would allow him to increase the ignition advance. I don't know if that will increase power or not though.

No cat + higher octane (I dont think 100 would help but maybe 95ish) + leaner AFR and advanced timing = more power and more heat. You might not pick up enough HP to make it worth it, I dont know.

gas+air=power

octane does nothing to add power, it is just allows you to push tuning farther with less fear of detonation.
