so you are seeing AFR's of 14-15 at WOT above 6000 rpms? That would be bad.

if so then you probably need to move to the 1b series of maps like i had to. i was seeing 14's at WOT above 5500 rpms. the 1b maps solved that and the AFR's in that range went down to 12's and 11's and WOT

That is what I thought.
Send me the year/model/mods for your car and a copy of the current calibration you are running to ap@mazdamaniac (dot com).

So, now you are running too rich!
You need to move to the 1c_Xx series.

Send me an e-mail as well.

Jeff. I have a few questions about email support.

Should I limit my map change requests to 1 email per week?

I am trying to figure out a reasonable way to solve my issues without taking up too much of you're time.

What happened with the correction I sent to you last night? I pushed up your fuel above 7k in your v1_4a calibration.

You aren't taking up too much of my time.
I just can't keep track of who needs what and I get about 25 - 35 requests a day for adjustments, 7 days a week.

The last email I got from you was Saturday afternoon. My AFR is 13.0-13.5 from 6500-7000rpm @ WOT.

That's exactly it. You get too many adjustment requests so maybe there should be a limit on how often we ask you for changes.

HAy!

My car didn't blow up at the track. I did 100 miles. Pegged it to 9k several times each lap.
Hit the cut off 3x.
Was 89 degrees or hotter.

at the dyno day you said it was fine the way it was, but i guess it wouldnt hurt to try a new map!

i thought the maps get richer as the letters move up (1b richer than 1a, 1c richer than 1b). am i wrong on this?

No biggie

No biggie on the confusion, I'm sending the email now.

Goodness knows I've jumped to the wrong conclusion once or twice. I even thought of this great product, I call it my "Jump to Conclusions Mat"....

I have another order going in to Cobb tomorrow morning.
If anyone wants one sent their way this week, I need your order before 11am PDT (2pm EDT or 6pm GMT) tomorrow.

Thanks!

How do I get certified I track my car allot in the summer and every ounce of HP or TQ I can get will help me out against the competition

How do I get some of these maps, my cobb has been a useless piece for 3 weeks, I tried to ask Scott for a dyno tune and he won't answer with a price... Gay!

We need to get your AFs stable in the 12's and your fuel trims to a minimum.
That's it.
If you feel you "qualify", you know where to send the e-mail with your names, mods, etc.

Not yet.
I just got a European PCM to Cobb yesterday.
We will have to wait and see.

Stable at 12.3 - 12.7 @ WOT. 14's everywhere else.
And by "stable", I mean relatively. It is still going to be rich at tip-in and high RPM (above 8500).

If your car is stable in the low 13's, I can do stuff with ignition timing only since you are already at LBT.

"Tip-in" is the fraction of a second after you step on the gas.
Kinda like the accelerator pump on a carb, only you can also affect timing and stuff at that point.
It is usually a rich spike.

"LBT" is Lean Best Torque.

maybe you should have a minimum recommended gasoline octane for those riskier maps?
