Okay guys, no chance to get any good quality pics but I did get her cleaned up a bit. I will try and get some detailed shots of the wheels in the sun tomorrow. It's hard to tell but I am loving the machined face against the silver inner parts of the wheel, it's a great contrast.

Well they are 245/40 -18's. It's not a huge stretch, I just need to get lower, then I'll decide whether to install the spacers or not.

18 x 9.5 +40. Picking coil-overs has been the hardest decision ever. I am back on the HKS or the Bilsteins now. I just don't want to regret the decision. I am liking some of the newer lower cost options but no reviews of them makes it tough to really consider them seriously.

Yeah I have just installed a few different sets and I am starting to see the differences. I just don't want to spend more and not get more.

Wheels look great! The side pic makes the stretch look worse than the other pics for some reason. Looks to be a great set up.

I think we jinxed my CEL/limp mode... started limiting to 7 psi last night and throughout today. It seems to go away after a few minutes of highways speeds but comes back. Hoping to find someone in SA with a vag com to get a better look at what's going on... might have to go to a shop that has one by the time it's all said and done.

Thanks, the dark makes the stretch look worse I think.

You definitley need to get some data logs to see what is going on. Is there a cheap solution to datalog on your car?

Not that I'm aware of, unfortunately. A lot of standard ODBII are able to log most of the data, but there's a few readings that don't work. I know boost is one of the problem readings. Thanks VAG! I'm definitely going to try to pick up a vag-com if I ever have the spare money, but hoping I can find someone local who has one and is willing to help out. Posted on the local audi site but no responses yet... it usually doesn't get the amount of traffic we get here, so I wouldn't be surprised it if takes a day or 2 to get worthwhile replies.

Boost is not so important (we an watch the gauge) but AFR's would be good to look at. Maybe we should try the Scangauge and see if there are any problems we can see while cruising.

That might work. Pretty sure AFR is standard. We can watch the boost gauge if it decides to turn on lol. Boost is actually pretty consistent though.... if it's running like ****, it's right at about 6-7 psi. Whenever it's running properly, it's 22-23 psi. So how do you tell the difference between 7 psi and 22 psi? Well, that's surprisingly easy.

Edit: Decided to go for a drive and try something out. Unplugged the MAF and started her up... started up no problem and drove rather well. The stuttering/hesitation around 2k rpm was completely gone, though I was still stuck at 7 psi or so. Got back to my place, plugged the MAF back in and started her up again. Barely wanted to start and idle at first... had to rev a few times to get it to settle properly. The stutter was back and probably a bit worse at first. After a couple minutes of driving and a few stops and starts, it started to smooth out to normal and I was able to get full boost. Drove around for about 10 minutes and it seemed to be running perfectly normal, including boost. Not sure what this means, but it could mean that I dismissed the maf a bit early. I still probably need to take a look at the data to see if there's anything to find there. Aside from that, I just need to wait and see how things are with time. I'll probably break down and buy a security torx set to take a look at the MAF and see if it needs cleaning or something.

If you want to bring it by later, I have a set of torx already and MAF cleaner

Coilovers are nice for sure. I'm sure you will make the right decision.
