All the Okies I've known before you were quite a bit mechanically challenged, and one guy thought you could drive a old Super Bee from Antlers to Pampa in a blizzard with 8 people (one was 6 month old-one was 90), dead battery, and broken wiper motor.

Austin person here! We don't really have anything going on. There is the TX rotary club but I can't always make it out... Randal, Canary8, helps that group get stuff together. We don't have a weekly meetup Friday night setup like you SARX guy's have with Biff's.

 

We can't all be cool like the Oklahoma people.

Thanks Darrell I dont know a ton but I am not dumb around cars either. A lot of people up here in tulsa just through a fart can on the back of their civic, saturn or galant and think they could be Paul Walker in Fast and the Furious.

Funny how the last three cars were so spread out.

 

I'm not sure what was up with the last two (they roll as a set, the FD and the complete mazdaspeed car.) No one really knows anything about them, but they've told me they have tons of track experience. They kept up with me when they were behind me but I think given the timing they weren't in their cars and ready when our group rolled out. The Shinka was giving QT a lot of space because well he stinks lol. I had a couple complaints from people behind him about the "fumes"

 

Yeah well I know mike (FD) has plenty of autox time, not sure about RX-Hawk though. Maybe they were just enjoying the scenery and didn't want to end up in jail

 

There's parking lot meets every weekend man, they're just not rx specific, they're open to anything and everything and usually filled with a 30/70 balance, that being 30% of the people are cool, the other 70% are street racing kids or younger dudes acting like dumbasses. There is also cars and coffee every 1st sunday and it's picking up steam from what I hear. I'd love for Austin to have an Rx scene outside of Texasrxs, but most of the guys here either aren't interested, own 3rd gens and don't drive them, or there's something else going on, we did have a small group of us here on the forum for a whille but most of those guys have vanished or they're just not active anymore. Hopefully once I get my car back to where I want it I might start trying to put something together and recruiting willing locals etc as well lol

And again, seeing these vids and the pics from the run just makes me really sad I couldn't go, I ordered my parts beginning of February and just this last wednesday do I now have all the correct stuff I need. (ugh)
