If I don't hear from him, you can have them. R3 wheels with these spacers will just be sick.

If I ever paint the Volks I am thinking mag Blue

I remember seeing those when I was waiting for mine to arrive... It took a little bit for me to realize it was blue lol. Looks pretty good though. The colors they use are definitely quality.

Yeah I thought they were black. I also like the gunmetal paint. But I think they look like *** with the faces completely painted. It takes away from the beautiful machining.

In your research have you found any reputable Audi shops? He had his timing belt(s) and water pumps (yes it has two water pumps) replaced and the guy did shitty work and put 120 mile son his car but he cannot prove it.
Foreign Affair in Schertz (210-658-8338). I’ve taken a number of vehicles to Bob and Olga over the years with fantastic, HONEST, results. I’ve received feedback from nearly a dozen folks who always have had the highest praise for his work and reasonable pricing too. Bob is a Toyota master mechanic who decided to open up a small mom and pop shop and only works on foreign made vehicles, to include Audi. The only problem with him is his schedule… he tends to be booked up a week or two in advanced at all times.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll let him know. I just found out that if he has the 2.7L TT engine that it has to be removed to replace the turbos

I am still researching for him but if that is the case then it will be a big job.

Oh... I didn't think you meant you were going to help him repair it... just diagnose the problem. Yeah, that's one of the main problems with maintenance costs on the B5 S4 lol. That's why some people take that opportunity to upgrade the turbos. I think the K04 turbos are said to be a bit more reliable than the stock K03. They're more expensive and require a few more parts to really make it work, but most people go ahead and do it because if you're going to have to pull the engine out, you might as well make it worth the time and money. The K03's last long enough that it's not really that big of an issue to just use them again, but if you're thinking of ever upgrading the turbos, that's the time to do it.

I'm definitely up for helping out on whatever it is... might as well get familiar with the car as much as possible.

What does everyone think of the Shinari design? I think it looks pretty good for a concept... could obviously use a little bit more cleaning up and refinement for a production car, but overall a good direction I think.

Yeah I am down for helping the guy out but I'm not pulling the motor, . I did call majestic Turbo in Waco where i have had great experiences with turbo rebuilds and they quoted me $333.00 for each turbo if the compressor wheel and housing are not damaged.

If he gets back to me I will let you know.

I love the Shinari design and personally think that it is closest to what the next rotary will be in. There really is no market for a two seater, RX-7 replacement. Just look at the sales of the 370Z.

Thumbs up

Hey guys - I wanted to thank Scott, Juan and J for helping me out this weekend with my coilover install. I took the car out to the proving grounds (aka Del Rio) and she handled those roads brilliantly. I may have to turn the setting down a little bit but otherwise it's a really solid piece of work. You guys rock.

I did a bit of research for my friend Dan and it turns out he's got the infamous 2.7L biturbo V6. The car's still hanging out in San An. No idea when he'll be able to get it fixed but I keep directing him to this board. It's really pretty awesome how helpful you guys all are around here.

can i get my volks painted? i dont know much about the finish besides it all the silver color. i was wanting to go with the mag ones or gunmetal after i couldnt get the red set...my best choice might just be finding someone to trade with rather than try to change it but im not sure.

They are 2 piece wheels so the face can be removed and painted (rotr8 did his) but it's the edges along the diamond cut that concern me. Whoever is doing it would have to be a pro. That diamond cut face is why i don't like the face painted all the same color, it takes away from the detail. The black two tone looks amazing as well. I don't care for the all black

yeah im definately not a fan of the solid black, mine are kindy iffy for me too...the machined part of the 2 tone black is what i would want, id even be fine with leaving the silver in the middle..im just not sure how i could go about getting that look.

Any good paint shop can remove the face and paint them however you want. They would probably need to sand blasted, then painted and polished for best results depending on the look you want.

My dad has restored some old car in the past and sold them here.

But honestly the forums for those types of rides are the best places.
