Sqeaky belts because of the pulleys?
Yeah, all three of us have squeaky belts (Cesar, Casey and I). The underdrive pulleys required a smaller belt, which we put on when we did the install. I guess we just didn't tighten the pulleys/belt tight enough. They squeak at startup.

Mine even squeak when I run the car hard and shift in the high 8.5 to 9k rpm range. I joke, because it seriously sounds like a BOV when I shift. Gives me the turbo sound at less than half the price

What the hell language was that?

Am I supposed to get some secret de-coder ring to read it?

@Keith - I think the visor thing is a common problem.
Check you pm.

Keith ....... no I dont......
when I FIRST did the pulleys, I thought I had squeeky belts, but then found that it was my airbox that was loose and moving around. once I fixed that it has yet to make a noise.

I can bet your betls are just to loose. we can fix that

sorry to hear about the visor. maybe you guys should start going to San Berdo Mazda. I have not had them break anything on my car yet. ,y only problems with them so far were the "it's cause your car is lowered" which they took off the record when I told them to, and the "this picture could be anyones car" when I tried to get the taillight replaced. which they wound up replacing anyways.

didn't they "borrow" your stealth bulbs?

This is what I am so freaked about...no trust, even on the small things like bulbs and CD's in your car.

yeah they did "barrow" one chrome light from the taillight they replaced. but in their defense, if you didn't know it was there, it would be easy to not notice. it's obvious they replaced the taillight and the small wiring harness that goes with it. when I got the bulb back it was in it's "holder".

I am not saying that San Berdo Mazda is the best, I am just sayin that I have not had anything broken or missing (besides the light I got back) but then again, the car has only been there 3 times. I try not to go there unless I have to.

I think Cesar goes to Redlands Mazda.... how are they?

ok guys...pics coming soon. I was horrified by what I saw. I was assuming a broken tab or a broken hinge...but no....what I found was a completely exploded sun visor.

When I go to pick up the car, I asked the service manager why he failed to call me back about the broken visor. He asked if I wanted to order a new one. I said, I'm not paying for it. He said, its alright, it would be covered under waranty....then I explained I'm beyond my warranty. He then asked me what I wanted to do about the visor, and I was dumb founded.

I want it to be replaced, and I'm not paying for it. He stood there, and then proceeded to call the tech up that worked on my car. He questioned the guy infront of me..his response was that the mirror was down when he got in the car. I said, it must have been your service drive guy, why dont you ask him. Well, he only works the morning shift and was not available for "questioning". We all just stood there, looking at ourselves.

I then took Cesar's idea. I said I'll just have to bring my other 8 down, and I'll put this mirror on it, since it is still under warranty. I don't want to have to exaplin myself either, you need to replace this under warranty. He said that would be fine.

Now, I go to drive home, and the damn mirror won't stay up or down...it just hangs there, limp, straight up/down. I cant fricken see around it, through it...so I slouch my seat way back like I'm a fricken gang banger and drive home....pissed.

let me load the pics so you can see what they said I did....and what they weren;t willing to take ownership of.

KEVIN, I NEED THE NAME OF THE PERSON YOU COMPLAINED TO AT MAZDA...I'M SERIOUS. Come-on, if they won't take responsibility for a fricken sun visor, what are we left to think when they have our cars...

The GM of the dealership is Al Stein.

but you will probably need to talk to brad (dont remember his last name) but he is the service manager.

although if you do get into an accident while the visor is blocking your view, the dealership can potentially be sued. as long as you can prove that it was not like that before.

the dealership probably monitors this site now.

because they are jerks.

I HATE ROMERO MOTORS

hmm... maybe next time just play dumb and let them replace it "under warranty" first- even tho it's technically out. and, if they then give u a hard time, then u can go ballastic and make them take responsibility...

Keith, here's what you need to do:

-Contact the Service Mgr.
-Contact Al Stein (GM)

If that gets you no where, you can thank my nifty rolodex for these next few numbers:
- Contact Brian Colianni: Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Mazda North American Operations. This is the guy responsible for making sure your experience at Mazda dealerships is a good one. This number should be able to direct you to Brian's extension. 949-727-6844 (That's Jim O'Sullivan's number: MNAO CEO)

I would also shoot an email to mazdavisitors@mazdausa.com and they'll get it to the appropriate person.

I know this sounds pretty drastic but if the Service Mgr or GM can't fix it then you need to do what's best for you...even if that's taking it pretty far up the ladder. Let me know how it goes.

It's a well known fact that the visors have problems. Don't worry about it.
You act like they broke it. O r worse they did it intentionally.

It's not a reliable design or it's a manufacturing problem. You could have broken it at any point in time.

Be nice they may replace it for free if you act like a business man. Like you said yo can always put it on the other 8.

Things happen. The lot boy could have broke it and the service manager and mechanic probably don''t know a thing about it.

Be upset but polite at all times. Best way to handle thing like this.

Maybe I'm too old. Just take my word.

go ahead and go drastic measures. Even though it is just a visor - eeey t is still your car and they are still being ******** by trying to blame it on you instaed of taking responsibility for their own actions and blame it on you. Plus, it is also obivious that they have not learned their lesson by what happened with Kevins car.........screw them. they deserved to be reported to mazda so they can see what kind of service their loyal customers have been offered. How many people have bought more than one mazda within the same year here? and how we being rewarded? whatever!

it boils down to this. the service tech was suppose to check the car out when it came in, which i'm sure he did. he should list any damage on vehicle before they take it. him not listing the visor as bring broke means it was not. so part of my retort to them would be, if it was broke when i brought it in why did the service tech not list it on his pre-damage check in list. .. and i'm sure he checked out the inside of your car before it went to the back...all that pretty red in there would make a person really check out the inside i would think.....

I already installed the RE Aemynia front bumper. Good fit!

Need to do a couple of minor things like resolder connector for Fog lights.

Sun Visor Saga....revisisted

Went back down to Romero this morning...after looking over my shoulder at the fire burning by Cesar and I. I didn't know what to expect, but figured a discussion with someone in charge down there would result in a different outcome. No manager on site at 8:00, I was told he was stuck on the 15, behind the fire. I was able to speak with the service manager (Mike). After explaining the incident, and how I felt about the type of trust/service they had provided me...as well as not really feeling that I wanted to participate in fraud against Mazda by ordering a part under warranty from a different car...he checked with the service drive person who worked with me on Friday.

Results: A sun visor had been ordered on Friday, with a notation as to "no charge to customer"....well, it would have been nice if they told me this on Friday, rather than making it seem that I was to held responsible. Service manager said that he would follow up with the tech that worked on my car, to remind him of the policy that the dealership has when a customer car is damaged. Whether this is done or not...I have no idea. We'll see if they "forget" to call me when my part arrives Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.
