well it offical mazda is blaming the intake for the rough idle...i will pick it up tomorrow and if the problem is still there i will switch the intakes out and take it back.

loren, will they not service it if it doesn't have the oem air intake?

 

just said that the intake is the problem...we will see when i get down there what problems still exist and if i have to pay.

 

you told me it ran horrible. the intake will only mess with the idle a little if any at all. but it does not affect how it runs. If the car runs like this all the time now, I am betting you will put the stock intake on and it will do the exact same thing.
how long have you been driving with that intake?

 

keith?...what about 4-6 months? I dont remeber the exact date...pick it up after work today.

 

It's the same problem others have had to deal with.
If you go to the dealer w/ aftermarket parts, they'll say it's those parts that are affecting the performance.
The only way around it is to switch it back and try again.
Besides, I'm sure Romero has a bad taste in their month regarding RX8's.

 

yeah, looks like you have two options.

1) try fighting it and explain to them that the intake has been in there for 6 months, and it has yet to give you a problem..... yada yada yada.

2) just replace the intake with the stock one, and take it back.

 

So is anyone going sat or sun?

Hey speeddemon. i own a RX8 automatic. i am not really into the racing thing. I am more intereseted in seeing what other people are doing to their cars as far as looks go. Do you allow nubies to tag along on your monthly meets?

 

of course.... the meets are not for people who are racers. it is intended for people that just want to get together hang out with some new friends, see some cool cars (rotarys), go for a small drive, and have lunch.

It's a lot of fun. you are more then welcome to come out and meet the group!

 

Looks like a negative...guess we'll just have to wait till the 26th of November (next Cal Club event). Is it me, or have the last couple of events been low turn-out? The SD ones experiencing the same thing?

I first came to the meets to see the MS kit in person. Then, after meeting the people, going on the drive...was hooked. Malibu is a good place to go as well. I've done it alot, and have hung it up for awhile there...was getting too much going out there every month.
