Hi All,
Just a quick question regarding wheels and tires,
I just bought an RX8 and am loving every minute im in or around it,
I have been given the chance to get some new wheels as part of a promotion at my local performance shop,
They have offered to give me some Advanti Alpha wheels and tyres for free if I allow them to use it as their show car.
They have recommended using a staggered fit of 9.5s on the back and 8.5s on the front,
What tires would fit without any rub or steering lock issues?
Im looking at 245/30/20 on the back and 225/35/20 on the front?
Thanks in advance.

You can run up to 275 width tires on 10" rims with no rubbing or issues....

Would be best to get a couple of offset options for us to narrow down

You need to list suspension mods and what sort of offset you will be using.

Then you need to explain why you are using 20s, staggering, and crazy stretching your tires.

Stock standard suspension for now,
35p on the front, 36p on the rear,
Using 20's and staggering because they are going to be free,
I'm unsure about the tires thats why I'm asking.

You can get away with the rears all around at that offset with maybe a little more tire. Either way it is gonna look goofy at stock height.

why you just buy some lowering springs for around 100 150 and some 25 mm spacers with the stock wheels for a while till you can get some real nice wheels? what is wrong with the stock wheels? just saying

What's the highest backspace possible in the front an rear on the rx8. I wanna run a 18x12 an I want a 7" backspace (+12et). An was wondering if that clears the suspension.

It will be fine as long as you don't plan on having fenders.

If any one hasn't tried,

fitmywheels.com gives you a tool to see the difference between your current setup and your next setup to compare/contrast to get a basic idea of whether it works or not

need some advise on my set up.
powertrix coilovers, 1.5 drop
18x8.5 +38 all around
was talking with the company that I plained on buying from and they told me to go with 9.5 on the width, never told me why. could I run 8.5 with the coilovers, or is there a reason I should be going with 9.5?

also I don't want to roll fenders. not sure on the tire size would be grateful for any suggestions.

Both would work. 9.5 would look better. 245 (8.5) or 265 (9.5) are my suggestions. Roll fenders. Don't be dumb. Edit:assuming +38 offset on the 9.5 as well

So I've decided on 18x8.5 at +38 with 245s, anyone have an idea if ill need to roll my fenders with a 1.5 drop. And if so on of my rear fenders was bondoed up from the previous owner would that be a pain to roll

You can't just say you have coilovers. Ride height matters. Camber matters. Either way do the 255s

The ride height can change, but right now the car sits about 5-6 inches off the ground

Coilovers are ride height adjustable? I had no idea.
