5th will give you the best results as it is 1:1 ratio

3rd 4th or 5th isn't bad. Some ppl do 4th because it's in the middle and isn't as stressful as 5th gear since it goes to 200kph, not 235kph

Just do all runs in 4th. It's good

I did it in 3rd (well the guy did it without telling us) but something is wrong with my car and it got 164whp.

But wtv, do you have any mods on the car?

/\Awesome. You should be getting around 175whp 180-185 if it's really healthy.

oh ok. Well look at how squiggly it was at the top. That means your coils had to be changed

When I dynoed my turbo recently we did several runs in 3rd then some in 5th . 5th gave a much better result and the dyno guy said this is very common ...

5th is best

Brettus is correct. Dyno your car in 5th gear as it is a 1:1 ratio. Dynoing in another gear will throw it off just a little cause it is not 1:1 and all gears other than 5th will have a x:1 ratio with potentially rounded off numbers like in other cars that say, for example, 1.03:1 and really is 1.0289 and so on. It makes a difference when you are multiplying a few numbers together and some are rounded.

As far as the top end squiglies on the dyno, it doesnt always mean that you should replace the coils. I have had the same problem with my car and checked the connections at the plugs and plug wires and it was a little loose. I replaced my plugs and made sure the connections were good, did another dyno run and problem solved.

Here are the results, youll have the excuse the bad picture i took it with my camera. The first dyno that was done was a test and it doesnt show up on the sheet but it showed 181 hp. The official 3 pulls show up 177. This is on a mustang dyno so the guy said the number on a dynojet should be higher. Let me know what yall think.

I think you have a clogged cat. The power peak should be at ~8k rpm not 6700. this power curve is consistent with a car with a clogged cat. converter.

Also I don't see any of the intake valves opening. What's the smoothing rate? I think it's too high. There should be 3 distinct power dips when each of the intake stages open.

I would want to see it at say..5. Much less than that and you start seeing a bunch of noise that doesn't really mean anything. But at that rate you're filtering out a bunch of useful information.

180hp at 6800 is actually way better than any other renesis i can recall - look how much torque he is makeing .
It's just after that that things go pear shaped .

Don't think it is a clogged cat.

Compare it with this dyno from a few pages back which is one of the best dynos I've seen - his car is making the same power right up until the dropoff .

My old car had that problem for a while i know what it feels like. And i think it would give a cel if the aux port didnt open. Compared to my old rx8 the accelaration is smoth all the way to 9k and it puts me deeper into my seat.

/\ I would still check them out if I was you .
Start by making sure the motor does a open close sequence a few seconds after you shut off the engine . You should be able to hear it from the cabin ....

Anything in specific I should do? And what exactly should I be listening for?
