either my fuel tank is broken or when I bottomed out the force was so violent that fuel came out from the tank where the assembly is because I didn't get around to double checking the correct tq for the cap on the fuel tank, yeah I fucked up.

Did Tim also tell you that my cat is already starting to crumble? I believe I have the same cat as you 200cell, cant remember the brand.

When are you up for a reefton run or track day? You have no excuse not to come to Nationals now, were struggling for numbers.

Well tuning is partially done.

So far 270.48 hp at the wheels.

Interesting thing happened though, it appears the car is activating it's torque reducer of some kind.

We are aiming at 8250 rpm, however when approaching 7750, it is activating what appears to a be a torque reducer therefore pulling out timing, and or completely activating transmission light and cutting it completely.

When it was set to have 7-8 degree of timing, data log is showing -2 - -3 timing.

The tuner has found fair few tables in MazdaEdit that appears to be the table for transmission, however this are not labelled yet, also apart from that the current version of MazdaEdit is unable to log the required values other then the typical canbus items.

Also belt is showing signs of slipping at near 7750 rpm.

We are in contact now with EpiFan to sort out these tables and sort out the logging, once we have that information and possibly a chance of changing the pulley setup we will recommence tuning.

But i was told to easily expect another 20 hp once these things are all sorted... maybe 300 isnt impossible O.O

good to hear.

Maybe you will have to lower the redline to 8?

have you ever taken the car to 8250 before?

Whos dyno are you using?

what logging parameters are you missing ? I have pretty much all i need bar injector% and trailing timing.

The timing being pulled is in line with the knock tables - is there any knock ? If not you can alter these to prevent timing being pulled.

Just got the a GoPro cam, so i have now incorporated recordings into my logging runs for the AFR gauge, since my OEM seems to be running rich.
This was the latest run that i recorded and thought i'd share

Here is the clip, it is a 2nd gear pull, on a 4 speed AT RX8 with 4.77 Final Gear

Ive also thrown together quickly two 2D Charts.

First one.
X Axis: RPM
RED: Absolute Load
YELLOW: Speed
Grey: Intake Air Temp
Green: Air Fuel Ratios

2nd Chart
X Axis: RPM
Red: Absolute Load
YELLOW: Speed
Blue: Mass Air Flow (GS)

Still can prob go another 700 RPM, but keeping it at 7,800 for now, until i can get my IAT downs abit further.

Anyways tune is still not quite finished, trying to sort out minor bits and pieces now

Anyways tuning using MazdaEdit, Big Props to Brettus for tuning the car! Still work in progress, Brettus keep wanting to make the tune better!

Yeah man - your car has to be the toughest I've ever had to tune . Has taken me ages to sort out what was going on with the injectors . Sorry for all the mucking around but I think the end result is good.

I now understand why so few FI 4port Autos have been successful as there is a major tuning trap not seen on the 6 ports .

Tofus dyno is in AT section below . This current setup is around the same WHP as shown - maybe a little more. All the tuning was more about making the car more driveable than for more power.

Just for the record ... that curve is an odd shap like that because of some missing data points on the logs . With that resolved we would see more of a straight line peaking later in the rev range at about the same figure.

So you're still using an Adaptronic? what kind of "hurdles" did you have trying to figure out the tune?

He is using mazdaedit personal and we did the tune via email/logging etc.
The main hurdle was in how the stock ecu handled the staging of the secondary ID1000 injectors . Was a real mission to work it out . But we got there in the end.

Good to see that Mazda edit is turning out to be a viable tuning solution. This may be something for me to consider in the future.

It really is way ahead of Protuner in lots of ways and the extra features make it better than the AP as well in my opinion.
