Tesla coils were my hobby before cars... I still like to scare neighborhood kids at Halloween...

Clutch time! But I hit a snag. I got everything off in prep to remove the trans but found one minor drawback to the PTP manifold. It slightly curves around the transmission just enough to keep it captive! Now I have to pull the manifold, which means possibly the turbo as well, ugh.

Don't get me wrong, still love my PTP! Was just experiencing a "so close yet so far" moment lol...

Nothing a little motivation couldn't take care of. I was able to pull the motor mount and remove the manifold nuts to slide it over just enough...

I plan on cutting that part off and having it welded shut when I install it.

Yeah, in fact it was leaking and oil was finding its way onto the downpipe. I am pretty certain that is what caused my little fire back in December. I have since fixed the leak but watching it like a hawk. I empty it every month or so but it doesn't get much during a month, maybe a quarter full.

Oh okay, mine was full when I checked it last and it usually takes longer but then again since running E85 I have been beating on her more lately. I am do for my yearly compression test though.

Almost seems like there's a threshold with the amount of oil that gets dumped into the catch can. Mine seems to fill up a lot faster when I run anything over about 11psi.

So you ended up buying the same clutch and FW anyway lol.

I love mine now that it's almost entirely broken in. Im sure you will as well once it's broken in.

In the beginning....It's terrible lol

Travis

EDIT: Also, my catch can takes a VERY long time to even show on the tube... Im debating replacing it with a different one anyway.

Yeah, there aren't many "affordable" options for the clamping power I need so I went with what I am familiar with. I liked it before, no complaints. I really think my last one was worn prematurely by my failing clutch pedal. It has been welded/reinforced. Plus I am putting in a stainless clutch line.
