Well... pulling up the AFR in that flat spot I've been working on has pushed my load to just over 250% in that realm... I stopped the pulls short because I was scared seeing that load

It did improve the hp in that region, now I have to work up the courage to continue working on the top end...

Yes. Well, that and the MBC helped with spool-up by about 500RPM and I turned up the boost a tad more, 16psi. It added a noticeable bit of scoot

For comparison the highest load I logged on 92 octane @ 17psi was 230'ish. The main concern with hitting 250% is that I need to redo all my maps now as the max load I put in all the maps was 250. Based on what I've observed exceeding the map isn't necessarily catastrophic, it seems to just carry on linearly based on the last two cells. Not sure, just guessing based on what I've seen.

I was also able to reclaim some IDC by fine tuning the scaling and leaning things out. But I cut the pulls short so not sure where things will max out. That includes the MAF too. I was pegging the MAF at 4.99V on 92 octane @ 17psi. It seems the increased fuel consumption ratio running higher ethanol ratios leads to increased exhaust flow which in turn helps with spool and increases intake airflow...

haha ..didn't take you long to give in to temptation ...lol

It will def. lean out if you go over the loads you have modified it to max. at per the baro comp table ... but you might be right re the column headers on the fuel maps.

I'm liking the idea of better spool !

Heh, yeah I'm my own worst enemy lol... Every time I break something I spend hours wrenching and swearing at the car promising myself it's time to take it easy. Until I drive it again. I guess I have a problem and need treatment

The column headers are what I was referring to. My max load, baro and IAT comp tables are all maxed out so cumulatively that is 800% (200%x2x2)?

For info sake, here is a really lean log on E50. Didn't intend to run this lean but goes to show the benefit. Got some timing pulled at the very top end...

Daym .... that's lean alright . Although in lambda terms probably not .
I see timing is still prettybconservative ... you planning on playing with that as well ?

What clutch do you have ?

I am impressed the fuel pump is providing enough fuel for all of this!!

Lol everyone was commenting that my timing was aggressive previously Yeah I was planning on adding some back in but wanted to get fueling sorted first.

Clutch is...a mess. ACT Prolite flywheel and heavy duty pressure plate with used stock disc. I was running the 6 puck but a failing pedal killed it prematurely. I put the stock disc in when I had the motor out a year and a half ago. I plan to put in all new flywheel and pressure plate and street/strip disc.

Me too! I pulled the Walbro out when my last motor blew because I was suspect of all the fuel components. I put in an off the shelf AutoZone pump and it has done well. I do see pressure drop off from 54-55 down to low 40's psi at the top end. This isn't making life easy for stability. This is part of the reason I had my wife hold off on injectors for the moment. I need to look at the whole system. Logal was suggesting a larger fuel line as well, could be part of the pressure drop...

It's all only $$$

Oh, and even with my plugs gapped down to .020" I am starting to get some breakup. Seems ethanol is a bit harder to light. I think I might need to try the AEM coils... Just another thing on the list...

Good results man.

Dang, 40psi?

Luckily I have not any issues with my Walbro, it stays at 60psi all the time. I have not had a chance to really beat on mine since the scare (let my SOHN run dry and the engine was making a ticking sound so I had it towed and then the sound went away), I have it set at 7psi and it is running really well. I plan to turn it up after I enjoy some more time with it.

Thanks man. I don't know if there is anything wrong with my Walbro, for all I know it was a fuel injector. I just didn't want to take any moe risks at the time so I swapped everything. Now I really need to look at the system as a whole and get it up to par.

You still running an ethanol blend? How's it going? I can say without a doubt as long as there is a local station I will not be going back to straight gas!

I guess what I am pleased with most is how far some stock components have stretched for me. Stock eBay coils and stock autozone fuel pump pushed the car to 250% load!

Yes I am and I am loving it man. I would never go go back, an E40ish mix seems to work perfectly with my current tune. I plan on getting it retuned live on the dyno with the same mix to see if Steve can get some more out of it.

When I had the little mishap it was after destroying (well pulling a few lengths and holding) a friends modded and tuned 3.8 Genesis Coupe. That was in the near 10psi range so I dialed it down a bit because I got spooked. I am not ready to blow it just yet.

What kind of AFR are you seeing? Check out that "lean" log I posted a bit ago today. 12.5 I'm not so worried about, seems the E85 guys bicker back and for the around whether 12.0 or 12.5. It was the 13.5 spike at the top end! Got some timing pulled but nothing catastrophic. This was at 15-16psi 220%+ load... This is all AFR based on gasoline scale...

I know what you mean about getting spooked. I did some logs back out on the same highway where I had the fire... That brought back memories...

I haven't noticed any dips into the 12's looking at my gauges (goodbox with oem afr readings and stand alone wideband) at full throttle but honestly I have not done any logs. I need to do that this weekend, we plan to have a little meet up since at C&C.

Another thought on possibly increasing fuel pressure would be put a valve on the bypass. When in boost it kills the bypass and let's you have all the pump flow and pressure. Maybe just do it with a Hobbs switch and start at 7 psi or so. That would be pretty cheap to set up.

it's a pressure relief so only sees any flow if pressure is OVER the 60psi preset . So the engine will see full flow from the pump if it needs full flow .

Been thinking i might try the 50/50 blend same as you . The pump that has E85 has another pump with E10 next to it .Both use 91 octane gas as a base fuel , not the 87 that you guys get .
So i just need to put a 50/50 mix from those pumps in to get a 48ish ethanol content and higher octane than what you have.

You are a bad influence on me !

If the fuel line is causing such a restriction to flow then the pressure at the pump could be 60 psi and bypassing even though it's dropping to 40 psi at the engine.
