I ordered a new designed tensioner bracket from Pettit last summer. It moves the pulley down and away from alternator belt. Its also a lot thicker. They never updated the strange way the bolt and pulley works. You still need to manually move the pulley tight and then use the bolt/nuts to lock the position. And it helps to have someone pull on whatever you are wedging it with and another person to lock it.

I went through MANY different belts but finally found a goodyear gatorback belt that holds fine.

Update: so my heat exchangers are busted. They're liking through the fins on one of the exchangers. I'm looking for an upgraded heat exchanger setup. I'm also looking for and new reservoir for the water to air inter cooler setup. Any suggestions?

I can add a small tad here. I was having hi temp AIT too so I put CAI on the car. It immediately screwed the tune. We took the bosses car back to Steve Kan for another dyno and he explained exactly what had changed in a second.
The filter being so close to the MAF made it see air rushing past, adding all the tubing and a massive air filter made a nice slow moving column of air so the MAF leaned the car out around 30%.
Steve redynoed the car and picked up 5 more hp, 240hp at the wheels on a po lil 6spd auto isn't bad.

It should be std. stage 2, but it is seconhand and I can't be 100% sure. I just measured the outside dia. (not effective dia) of the pulleys. SC pully: 88,8mm and crank pully:117mm. I am not sure what that is in inch. Hope this helps.

I would try calling Pettit direct. I just bought a 4050335 but that was for a stage 3 pulley. Just make sure you buy a Goodyear Gatorback belt. They grip much better. You can order them off Amazon for under $10 shipped. Until you find a size, I would recommend buying a few of different sizes. Then when you find a size, order extras.

You can PM me direct if you have any questions. I am certain I can change the SC belt blindfolded at this point.

Thanks. I will try Pettit direct again, I have sent them a mail a couple of weeks ago, but no answer.

Just being a major garage queen lately. Should be getting my GOODbox tomorrow so I will finally have some type of gauges other than using the EFIDude. Move my Intercooler Tank to the washer fluid spot and did a battery relocation.

I need to get around to doing a compression test..

Got my GOODbox installed over the weekend and am happy to finally see some of whats going on. Went on a fairly spirited cruise last weekend and was happy that my coolant temps never rose above 190F. I am a little concerned with my Fuel Trims though. At idle my ST and LT will hold steady at 0. During driving my LT is usually pretty steady at around +10. ST is usually moving around a bit, rarely seeing any negative numbers.

The car is on the stock fuel pump and injectors with the low boost set-up. Is it possible one of those parts are causing my issue?

Edit: Also I am running the normal Pettit Flash.

The only trim that should concern you is the LTFT under boost . That will screw your afrs up big time . If your afrs are in the high 10s low 11s you have nothing to worry about

Tuning

If you can afford it and are ready for it. PRT Performance | Lewisville Performance Shop | Dallas Auto Services | Dyno Tuning Have steve tune it on his dyno "He's 1 of the very best in the business" just make sure you do all mods before. A little change after the tune might wreck the tune. I learned the hard way.

Took a short drive this morning paying particular attention to the AFRs, never saw anything in the 10s but saw 11.1-11.2 consistently. Ill need to hook my Dudelogger up next time.

I would love a tune but am not totally ready for that yet I do not think, maybe in the next year or so. Hopefully I can catch Steve Kan up in Chicago sometime. I believe hes come up there for tuning sessions before.

On a side note the car seemed to be loving our 45 degree temps here today.

Engine stops

I have run into some trouble with my RX-8. When I let go of the throttle and engage the clutch when driving with more than 3000rpm the engine stops.

If I brake and slow the engine rpm to less than 3000rpm and then push the clutch the engine runs/idles normal.

I can also give the throttle a small short push around 2000rpm and the engine will idle normal.

My setup is: Pettit supercharger stage 2, stock injectors, AP MM tune

Any ideas what can cause this problem?

Do you have a vac leak?

Is this a new problem?

What are your MAF and Fuel Trim values?
