Really wish they would reintroduce these kits.

I haven't been to the Smokies in a while, and was thinking of taking the wife and the two older kids up there. Maybe we'll plan for the DGRR weekend. We made a short appearance in 2008's and even got to chase Cam through The Dragon (man was that fun, for us, our significant others, not so much). Glad to see everyone's still enjoying their 8's.

I'm back in the country now and have to decide what to do with the 8. If anyone is interested in the Pettit kit, or the complete car let me know. I have a post up in the FS section as well.

As an aside, there is no secret to getting close to 300whp with the "low" boost setup that some of you have been discussing. I have no idea what tuning Cam, MM, or EFI have been providing lately, but I hit that mark several years ago building my own maps on access race software from COBB. That and an unrestricted exhaust + LS1 coils ala Juan

So my '05 RX8 + Pettit Supercharger finally blew an apex seal and I have little interest in keeping this car anymore. (Life changes, need something more practical now) I contacted Pettit and they suggested selling the kit. I'm not sure what to do -- what are these kits + blown motor RX8's worth these days?

I'll take the kit off your hands for the right price...shouldn't take but an hour or so to get it off
What do you want for it?

Joff, you'd be better off spending a couple grand to get your motor rebuilt if you want a decent $ for the car. I bet you can get close to what you paid for for the kit, as for the RX-8 with a blown motor, probably less than the kit. I'd get the motor rebuilt and sell them together if I were you.

Like a cat on a loop rug, to use a old term. Has a touch more oversteer than stock wheels, but this is a toy for an occasional Saturday morning romp on the mountain roads.

Been away from here for a while; same posers, different day. I take it back; the car isn't for sale. Yes, the guy I bought it from put the front badge off center, and that's all anyone comments on. Unbelievable.

Thanks for the props! I am glad to hear its running. I almost wish I had that pulley back to try it instead of my high boost pulley. I have been having slipping issues nonstop since the fall. One well known rotary shop in the area wasn't able to get it right either.

It saddens me each time I bypass the rx8 keys for my mazda3.

keck03 I think if you call me "josh at Pettit Racing 561-844-2258" i can hook you up with a stock super charger pulley.

This thread has lost its steam eh?

I contacted Petit and they said mazdamaniac is doing their COBB tunes. I thought that they developed a COBB tune in house??

I take it back.

The car is for sale.

$11,500. Fire sale. First $2K deposit takes it. Seriously,

I believe I have the latest EFI Dude logger tune. I got it back last spring... But idk know if they're is any new ones out there beside that one.

The car runs extremely well with the tune. No issues whats so ever. perfect idle, and no dips anywhere in the rpm band in any gear.

The only thing is I did notice an extreme drop in MPG... My Afr guage doesn't show the car to be running extremely rich, but it is a little rich.
