Man OD. I think that's similar to Greg's motors demise. One of his solenoid valves was cracked I think. Well, good news. After nights of sleeplessness mine has passed inspection. My box got sent to the wrong address and is on its way back to Australia, dam. More good news though, got married and I have a baby on the way.

Hi guys.
i am finaly sellling my beloved rotary engine.
it works well (my problem used to comes from the vacuum hose).
I will miss it
but I bought a porsche for family purpose so that's OK lol
and i am looking for a cheap and stock supra for true drag racing

Times change, people move on. Sorry to see our little group loosing some of it's members but others will purchase the super charger and hopfully come here to talk about it.

I want to pass on one piece of advice.
I would always use vacuum lines pre blower were ever possible!!
The by pass valve and your boost gauge would be the ONLY thing I would use a post blower vacuum port for and I would keep those ABOVE the LIM if possible. I would hook the ssv vacuum chamber up to the same one the power brakes use or drill another one. Seal those lim nipples up period. Use the best clamps you can buy.
Loosing that LIM vacuum line is thought to have caused a chain of events that caused my dang good engine to blow. I dont know for sure, but that is what some experts are saying.
So just passing it on.

OK after contemplating what OD has to say "and a few shots after a 18hr work day" will anyone else step up and say, do this not that? Do what I say and not as I do. hehe
Reading the entire Pettit thread left a lot to be desired after all the back biting, made it hard to find specific points.
I have a master rx8 mech lined up to do my install and I've tried to print all ideas and experiance out to help the installation for a reliable engine. Maybe a newer thread on, "this works, this don't" kinda thing.
Any and all ideas will be appreciated as I, we will be tracking this car, I'm just the pit boy "OK_pit old basstid", the misses will be driving.

The connection I worry about is the Jet-Air line, that one coming loose is my nightmare, I have a very fat pressure/Vacuum line on that with 1/2 inch SS radiator clamps. (and Right Stuff)
I always seal the "Vacuum" lines with some type of sealant as a glue if working with forced induction. I suppose soldering the LIM nipples closed would be the next step.
SInce the car/package is not selling I had to start looking at other options. So I called Cam.
He came to my rescue.
But 1st, about vacuum lines. He agreed that it would be a good idea to not use the lim as a vacuum source. Rather use the power brake port or the port that comes off the SC (for the evap thingy)> Always do like Rote and others have said, use a 5/16 hose (very tight fit) and a wide metal clamp for ALL vacuum lines anywhere there is a connection (including one way valves).
I got rid of my Jet air port a LONG time ago. When I did the lim clean up etc.
But back to my 1st sentance----Cam has come to my resue.....!!!
. He told me to pack up my two cores, put his address on it, slap it on the butt and send them to him. He will do some engine diagnostics/evals and he will try to pin down what is happening. After that he will rebuild for me using the taller seal or even the lower compression rotors if i wanted.
Cant talk about money. You dont know how much good stuff is left in an engine until you tear it down etc. I knew that, but he said not to worry it probably wouldnt be as much as I thought. He did quote me a range that I sure was in agreement with
Glad I choose his kit to begin with--I had a feeling he would be one that would stay around for awhile and he would stand by his stuff.
He is also suspecting that Gas (with the ethanol crap)is getting worse and we may need to pull some timing? The gas I was using at the track was testing out at 4%.
So I will pack them up and send them down. Lets see what will happen.
Cant sell it the way it is, I will not go through with all the part out stuff, so I HAVE to rebuild --no choice.
i would not mind keeping this car forever--IF the reliability issue can be fixed.

I'm STILL running stock coils on upgraded leads with a little extra dwell . They are at 60000kms now so need to start thinking about if I should go BHR or just replace them.
Are the tall seals 1 piece or 2 ?

I use the MSD since 30ks ago.
I zip tie all my vacuum lines, period. ALL MY VACUUM LINES
Track days I use half a tank of Sunoco 103 and mixed with the my normal Hess 93.
Used to spray 50/50 VP M-5 and now 25 meth/75 water. 100ml before blower and 60ml post blower.
My two only detonation occasions came due to my own fault (over reaving in low gear) and Cam warned me of not using enough premix. Used to use MMO, now using Protek 4oz per 12 gallons and track day 1 to 1 mix. Also, Cam recommended 15W40 and so I saw Dempsey Racing and SpeedSource the day I was at the Homestead track.
Man--TeamRX8 really stepped up and brought me back to life. I cant say what he did, but man did he raise the bar of rotary brotherhood. I posted on the good guy thread something about it. I dont want to go on and on but I thought I did need to post in my "home" thread.
