I have forgotten guys--what color trigger wire is on the connector that goes to the SSV solenoid?
Juan it is cheaper to buy used Race rubber. Many teams sale tires that are hardly used and are great for us HPDE folks. Get an entire set for $300 or so.

efi dude run with the 7 lb boost on it and I got
maf grams/sec--329

ambient temp was 78F with humidity at approx 45%
3nd gear run--- ran out of entrance ramp

Now I am combating too cool running temps!
With my double secret, black ops, wall street protected thermostat housing/thermostat--cant get coolant above 165F on a 75F day during interstate driving. Around town I am fine. This is WITHOUT a secondary radiator functioning. Engine obd2 temps so cool a lot of the time that the pcm is still in a warm up mode.
To me this proves that the OEM radiator is actually a pretty good radiator. It just needs air flow.i
Fine tuning this set up continues.
Cool engine and boost do NOT like each other.

Its alive. Oil light is on though. Went to Mazda to get the OMP diagrams then remember I cracked the plug on the OCV, opps. If you work on an 09 up watch out for this, itl set you back $210, ouch.
Yay, good news, lots of it. I put the belt on and hooked up the bypass valve, no codes, no tunning needed, stable AFRs, 320 airflow. Just kiddin. The real good news is replaced OCV and clocked about 50 miles of code free driving. Maryland emissions, here I come.

Right now I am fighting a mid load misfire on my Fi car. Only occurs when I do a fairly rapid accelleration and at approx 50% throttle. No matter what rpm. Coarse I back off quick!!
a/f's look ok at the time, so I am thinking ignition. New plugs, but i have installed a set of ls2 coils (harness is solid). Guess maybe they need more dwell or something as the misfire can be in front or rear rotor. Grounds are good. vacumn lines are secure, computer reset, pedel dance done. It idles great and runs great. I have had some good strong runs out of it but then this developed.
So tomorrow-- i am yanking them off and going back to oem with the twin fire. That set up was ok for me before, but the spark from the ls2 ( i guess when they do spark!) sure looks stronger.
At first I thought it was from running rich with the blues in the P2 spot and having the 6 psi pulley on--so I went to all yellows. It didnt change it. Then I thought maybe I am keeping it too cool--had the car with ect of 160! But getting temps up to 180 didnt change it either.
Sure wish I had the right diagnostic equipment so I wouldnt have to chase stuff like this.
SIgh---track event 3/12 so i have to get it purring.
I will be busy this w/e with my track prep and chasing this.
I went up to Charlies yesterday (Mazcare) and he showed me a 3nd gen he is working on. Man---so sweet. Powdercoated wrinkle black intake manifold etc, 15 psi boost, solid engine build--made me think why the hell am i fooling around with the 8 when I can have one of those? I felt like such an amatuer.

have you tried logging while this is going on ?
Again - does not sound like you actually KNOW if it is rich or not .

the pettit flash handles both the 7 psi and 10 psi set up with just a change in the injectors. I was running 550's in the P2s with the 10psi set up.
With the 7 psi pulley and the oem injectors I was getting close to the max duty cycle. So I had 2 blues laying around and just threw them on. WTH--right? I saw that I getting 11.5 a/f's on both my efi and innovate gauge at 4K and 50% throttle. I was also getting a little misfire when I suddenly put a mod load on the engine and at about 50% throttle.
So I thought too much gas? Plugs really looked Ok--maybe just a little wet---maybe.
Long story short---it wasnt that.
For the 1st time in 4 yrs my car now needs a screen in front of the maf--i dont know what changed? But when I put this engine in it now needs one or it will jump to the low a/f's with oem FI or the blues in it.
Idle and low throttle performance was always good---doesnt make sense to me that now i need a screen.
LTFT's with the blues and no screen were only in the 7% range at constant 4K running. Other times it did jump to 14 which is still acceptable.
Go figure. Thinking about putting the blues back in to the p2 spot--track w/e coming up.
By the way how are yall doing the FP jump wire? Instructions?

no i have a tune--its the one Cam did (street tune)when I installed. Whenever we upgrade to a bigger boost (4lb increase) pulley all we have to do is to install bigger injectors. Thats straight from the Boss and what several of us have done with excellent results.

Going from 480s to 550s isn't that big of a jump so i guess you can get away with that .
BTW are those 550s uncapped yellows ? If so how did you arrive at the 550 number ?
cam had them worked on (yellows) and had the pulse flow verified.
I realize what yall are saying and that is why I have done 2 things.
1- purchased a cobb unit and I am waiting for Steve Kan to come to atlanta
2- went back to the low boost set up (street tuned for that) and the injectors it had when it was tuned.
No one around here, That I am aware of, knows anything about FI'ing the rx8.

so they are uncapped ? I had some static flow tested at 800 ish ccs - how would pulse flow verified differ ?
