oh yea --you can use the by pass valve to control boost if you want
3 ways of doing this
to control boost with a supercharger there were 3 main ways to do this:
1) install a restrictor in the air inlet. This will reduce the CFM's and cause the supercharger boost to be less
2) install a BOV after the supercharger but before the MAF/VAF. this will bleed off the excess air, but still have the supercharger move the same amount of air
3) install a waste gate in the air inlet section. make the "vacum" seen from the air outlet, and when it goes above a certain amount, to change the waste gate to make it so that the CFMs are les, similar to #1 but can be adjusted just like a normal turbo
help any

How about just using a boost controller. Make the bypass valve into a waist gate, just only for air, not exhaust obviously.

You are vastly reducing the adiabatic efficiency of the blower by doing this. When not just modulate the throttle like a normal person?

Yes and no. I'm not trying to do that for efficiency, I'm doing it as a tuning aid so I'm totally safe while I get everything setup properly such as the management and other things I'm changing. Crawl, walk, run bro.

There's an update on the 09 harness buy the way. If you remember how the ground wire coming off of the coils had that funky looking junction? Well Mazda did away with that. Now they have every one of those running to direct ground. I haven't checked but I think since there separate each coil is grounded to the same aluminum housing matching the coils either front or back. Interesting!!!!!! Note to all, do this, makes total sense.

You can't tune it with the blower in a feedback loop like that.

Got my car back up to VA Beach this morning. Damn that's a long drive. Engine purrs nicely! No CEL's except for not having a cat. It's so nice to have her back. Now to get her cleaned up.

It was running lean as hell. When they tried to reflash it the first time and it didn't take, it screwed up the fuel trims. 2nd try fixed it all.

I am replacing the entire interior wiring harness---i found a few places on the old that needed attention, and with multiple areas --this stuff--dont repair--replace and I wanted to go through everything.
While I am at it I am running 2 --4 gauge battery grounds (both sides of the dash frame) and daisy chaining it all the way back to the fuel pump.

Of course. I don't theorize.
