I didn't have to compeltely remove the engine mount out from the engine bay, just unbolt it from the engine and from the frame, and you can move it around to get it out of your way.

still having a little trouble, i think it may just be my own stupidity. This is what I did, unscrewed the three bolts connected to the engine, Unscrew the one bolt on top of the mount where it sits over the frame on the rubber piece, jacked the motor up a little and it is totally free of the engine now but cannot get it out. I noticed there are two bolts on the part that screws directly to the frame, do I take that off to? Thanks guys

There is always space.
Try next to the washer resivoir or near the brake booster or ABS module.

Can't you copy the Japanese instructions and scan them into your computer, and then use babel or some other translator?

I changed the Gapping on my spark plugs this weekend from stock 0.48 to .30 as suggested by greddy. It definitely made a difference. I think the car runs much better. Although the turbo doesn't come on as strong as before, overall it does feel more powerful. I would recommend this change.

Hey everyone, got my turbo installed (finally finished tonight, about thirty minutes ago), Car runs good, idles good, looks as though I need to adjust BOV some because when I rev and let off, it chokes some. But so far no big issues, want to take it on a test drive, but not without the boost gauge. I have defi BF, where does the vacuum hose from the sensor go? I can not figure it out, i searched but could not find it, thanks!

It goes onto the other maintenance port on the intake manifold. There should be two of them, one of them you connected your wastegate control line to, hook up the boost gauge to the other one.

Yes it is definitly the cat. You have to retune the emanage if you want to use that.

You don't start from scratch to tune -- you just adjust the emanage fuels maps. You will need to get the current map from GReddy (or better yet use MazdaManiac's current map) -- you can find these here on the board. The pre-loaded map is password locked but GReddy has released an unlocked version for tuning purposes. You will need a laptop, cable and the GReddy support tool.

Also, you'll need someway of monitoring your Air/Fuel, the canscan is not adequate since you can't see anything below 12.0 (Greddy says the target AFR is 10.5-10.8).
Jeff is using the LM-1.

Hey guys, finally did my test run. Car is fast but runs poor! Had backfires, figured I would cause i do hve high flow cat. But I have a cel, hooked up scansalyer and actually have three! P0300 - Random Misfire, P0172- System too Rich and Pending P0302 - Rear Rotor Misfire. So when I drive the car, it runs rough, jumps alot, not smooth at all. Is all this caused by the high flow cat? If not what should I do? Have not loaded Jeff's map yet, should I? also i think i have a leak, not holding boost good but I have the boost tester order for that. Anyone have any suggestion?

Backfiring is normal. It'll still do it with the stock cat just won't be as loud.

Those CEL's are not good. Maybe call up Greddy and ask them, it could be a bad emanage map.
Double check all your connections, especially the emanage harness wires and the wires going to the black boxes. Do you have 2 or 3 black boxes? Greddy has an updated 3rd dongle that fixes 2 CEL, neither of which you have, yet (they pop up in warm weather).....
P0131 Front HO2S circuit low voltage ON 2 HO2S
P0410 AIR system problem ON 2 AIR system

First, check for leaks. Then, I'd put the stock cat back on, just to eliminate that as the problem.
Load either Greddy's latest map or Jeff's.
Do you have any shops in your area that do dyno tuning and are familiar with the emanage?
Did you replace or mess with the sparkplugs or sparkplug wires?

hey andrian, thanks for getting back to me. I went ahead and installed the stock cat, that took care of most of the problems. got a cel tonight, have not had time to check to see what it is, i think i will load jeff's map tomorrow cause the car is terrible on gas, a lot worse that it use to be! Rnning really rich, like 14.5 to 15 at some points. probably have fouled some spark plugs, should I go hotter or colder? I have the three boxes on the emange harness so i should be good there, checked with greddy to see if I needed an update and they said no. I pretty much have a boost leak, doesn't hold much more than three psi and hardly ever goes to five. I ordered the boost leak tester that was in the DIY (i think yours).

So all in all, its getting better, I have a friend who built rx 7s and we are going to tune it on sunday to get rid of the richness a little if Jeffs map doesnot take care of it. But i should have the latest greddy map might just be bad, I dunno.

Any other suggestions, or does everything sound like it is improving for me from your experience?

Thanks and happy to be boosted!

Chris

The reason they call it an Air Fuel Mixture is because the ratio is expressed as units of air to units of fuel. 15:1 is really lean, not really rich.

Check out this thread. Helpful info on dynotuning, basically I found my map was way too rich and I was losing hp after 6k rpms.

Okay, that makes sense, I am new to all this stuff so still learning, i just had it backwards for some reason. so can someone help to explain this to me though? That was my a/f with the stock greddy map and stock cat. the cel was telling me that the rear rotor was missing (not lost, just not firing right) and the system was too rich. The car was drinking gas, I mean I drove probably a hundred miles on one tank of gas, insane! So last night, after reading that I was really lean not rich, i got nervous that I might get denotation so I loaded Jeff's map. Now I am running in the mid 13s which is richer that before but my gas mileage has increased to better than what it was before I even had the turbo. I am puzzled.
1. What is the average a/f on Jeffs map?
2. why was i running so lean on the stock map?
3. Why has the a/f got richer but better on gas?

Thanks guys
