as mr pimp says ... Virtual dyno is free . I used Mazdaedit though.

Word of warning .
To get meaningful back to back virtual dynos you need :

A straight , flat (bump free) , safe , 1km section of road .
No tail or headwind.
You need the IATs to be within a few degrees .
You need the EGTs at the beginning of the run to be within 20-30 degrees .
You need to know the weight - don't change it between runs.

Best gear to do it in is 3rd for a turbo car
2nd might work ok for an NA .

If any of those things are askew ..... trying to compare runs is a total waste of time and will lead you to draw erroneous conclusions.

Also : anything other than a smooth curve (similar to a real dyno) can pretty much be ignored as a dud run . Anomalies abound when using this software and it can be really hard to get decent logs.

That was my hope ................ but no . Interesting how it reads differently than my old one all the same . reading lower down low but much the same up top.

It's 84.2mm ID (edit)

possibly the difference the actual placement of the sensor inside the tube. possibly one sits further down than the other? Just throwing out ideas.

haha ... you really want me to blow my sh*t up don't you !?

Was really hoping i would get enough headroom for safety in winter on my current setup - that's all. The weapon has a central tube within the maf . Looks like it might have an affect on how the maf reads.

yeah that was a kimmick thing to create a more power feeling when put on an N/A

I made drawings of maf adapter piece, you could have a machine shop make it and weld it to any size diameter tube you want.

I did this for my first build, I happen to have a second one waiting for a 3.75 or 4in intake tube. I was also thinking that maybe I could designe a entire unit for a 3d printer to make it out of abs plastic......

a long time ago I had a thread about it, guageing interest, I was gonna have 10 made but I only had maybe 1 person interested

I remember that ..... might get more interest these days .

Had a bad time yesterday with the setup after i cleaned the air filter . Went really rich.
Had me stumped for a while .
Till I disassembled the intake and found the tube that extends the intake (so the filter can sit outside the engine bay) , was on a slight angle to the maf tube . Hammered home to me how damn sensitive maf sensors are!

So ..... I think I finally figured out why my spoolup is not as good as it should be ....

12blade turbine with a clip vs BNR 11 blade

Load Vs RPM for 3 differently setup Greddy turbos

My 12 blade clipped turbine (sorry about the crap pic.)

BNR 11 blade with clip

Yeah ..... not only are there more blades and much more daylight through the clipped turbine , but the design looks inferior as well .

It obviously works great for the lighter 57trim wheeel but with the 60-1 wheel it seems the extra torque require to spin it up does not suit the turbine .

oh yea...I saw the sticker price and wrote it off. To take full advantage of that setup i feel like a larger maf is warranted. POWA!!!

You would want a bigger maf to go past 350whp ....... but the maf would be the least of your worries .

I'm still against fitting big turbos to the renesis ............... If you aren't going to go the whole hog and push for 400whp and do all the mods necessary to support that , a turbo "capable" of that is a really dumb choice. IMO

Mind you , the Precision setup i mentioned above might just change my views on that ..........
