Ok! Did you pull your DSC relay or just hold to disable? Any other things to do for a good dyno?

Just turn traction control off - that's all you need to do .

Keep fuel rich -- high 10s , keep timing conservative . Make sure it's all good before you dyno , The reason why there are so many dyno fails on this site is because people don't get their cars ready beforehand .

Congrats on the dyno, what are the acual peak numbers?
like 373whp? and the torque???

I agree with brettus, dyno tunes run rich on the street, and street tunes run lean on the dyno. so be sure to enrich it!

also is this a different dyno? your last one you did was really generous

Cheers Fazda .
I never got him to find the peak - looks like 375 when i use a ruler on the original .
Torque is nothing flash but at least it holds through to redline ... I calculate 251ftlbs .

Yes this is a different dyno . On the other dyno I'm sure it would have been over 400 based on the improvements I've made since I got 362 on it (3.5psi more boost and a 3" exhaust).
I went to this one based on a recommendation from my engine builder who dynos all his FD rebuilds on it. He says............. "it's accurate ".................

The peak however is very .................'peaky' . We did several pulls and they were all around 350 but holding that from 7500-8500 . The one i posted was the only one that peaked up so high .

Brett, how did you get the transitions for the VDI and SSV so smooth?

VDI ... dunno ... it is still functioning

SSV ..... comes in at 4000 - you can see it on the chart . Took a LOT of tuning to get AFRs sorted there though.

Hi Brett, check out the latest NZ Performance Car, there's an interesting article about an RX8 . He's whipped out the Renesisi and chucked in a modded 13b for 406hp I think. It's quite tidy too. Not my taste but.... Good on him.

It just does not seem as pronounced at all on that graph compared to what we normally see, especially the VDI.

Yes!!! I'd love the power but realistically ....never going to happen. Both dollars and skills wise.

Done a few things lately ...

*fitted DW300 fuel pump and new fuel filter - was having some nasty leaning off on occasion so hopefully this is fixed now .
*Modified my W/M injector for higher flow
*Fitted racing plugs 10.5 L 11.5 T

Hope to get back on the dyno soon to see if the minor knocking we heard last time has gone and then fine tune for more torque.

Pretty cold plugs for street use. Try to keep any idling to a minimum

I don't use it around town much anymore so hopefully they will be ok.
My builder actually suggested 11.5s all around as that is what he runs in all 400+ REWs . Have driven around on them a fair bit already - not experiencing any issues ... so far.
