He could also just put the MAF in a bigger housing to reduce air speed and recalibrate :P

Still have 45g/s up my sleeve and it doesn't look like i'll get to that as I'm almost at the limit of adjustment on the wastegate.

Not really one to get excited about maf voltages - seat of the pants is actually the best indicator i have . Which tells me - less down low more up top .
So depends on if you are a tit or an *** man as to if that's good or not

understand--but you are moving some air
Driveability/personnel performance preferences are not reflected by numbers--very very true.

Is the grin back on your face?

What injectors are you running and what duty cycle are you seeing?

Not really - the drop in low end makes the car feel sluggish to me . The lift up top is nice but I'm rarely ever revving that hard anyway.

^^^^ Clearly I need to investigate
Mmmmm seems to work ok

I'll be making enough changes to the intake that I'll need to basically start from scratch with my tune. I'll make sure to watch this area.

Thanks

Haha . Well I debated putting it on the dyno with the port mod in place but my butt dyno tells me the expense of doing that is not justified .
I'm going to take the sleeve out and fit a stock one because the loss of spoolup and midrange torque has taken a lot of the spark out of owning a turbo 8. It used to rip the panties off unsuspecting women - now it just makes them giggle a bit - just not the same !

This experiment has definitely turned me off the idea of going for a big turbo and high peak whp .

Nothing has changed on the turbine side .........

The compressor wheel was the only thing changed .

I would be curious to try the orginial compressor wheel and see what happens, not sure which is easier, but it would give you a better idea of what that port is really doing. apples to apples.

I hear ya . But i also have numerous logs from people with 60-1 greddy turbos and what I have gleaned from those is that my 60-1 turbo is spooling poorly by comparison . So in my mind there is only 1 variable .

Drop an REW in it and call it a day. Stock motor and turbo's (though I'm not sure you can fit them) can make 300-330 rwhp without breaking a sweat.

that's the only logical choice IMO, an FI Renesis engine failing is just a matter of when, not if ...

The legit way do you think you could pass Ontario emissions laws with this setup?

Don't know what they are like in NZ
