Curious to see what this style of turbo will do on my car without the Turblown manifold. I am also going to go with the smaller A/R then what was used in this thread.
wish u the best of luck. for some reason i always had my mind set on GT35's for some reason. i dont know why.

So you would rather the engine disintegrate in the process of shutting itself down?

Elliot how would you expect porting to affect turbo response?

Hard to say, maybe just slightly more top end with the aux ports open. Don't think response will really change from porting alone. The biggest difference will come from having more sealing compression. I expect that to raise torque everywhere....

Recondition and Coated Rotor Housings for the new street-ported engine. As soon as we are in our new shop we are going to knock this new engine out and see what 15psi nets us..

Here are the apex seals we will be using for this build;

http://www.turblown.net/store/index.php?productID=260

A great inexpensive alternative to the OEM units. We've had great success with them.
Curious to see how high of compression numbers we can get on Jamaal's Engine, compared to the factory engine...

They look the same height, but without the slot for the short spring.

Unfortunately those aren't an actual Rx-8 apex seal photo... They are direct replacement, we've built Rx-8 engines with them. Never got around to taking a photo, will shortly

I like the wider corner piece. Less likely to exit the groove in a detonation event.

No description/data on wear rate, highest boost ever tested or etc. If it will finished at 20-30k miles or max boost 10 PSI then I would prefer to machined the rotor for those unbreakable seal like super seal, south coast rotary and etc. gasket and o-ring kit ain't cheap.

63 psi and 1070rwhp, they are also in the fastest 12A in the world( 7.40 @ 181mph).
I know they are in a 13B running a 7.10 @ 191mph too. These seals have been manufactured for 5 years, and the company has 10 total years of producing apex seals. There are several street customers with 10-20k miles on their engines.

On decel the injectors are turned off, there isn't any combustion.

Now low rpms, out of boost on the throttle you might see a little bit, but again not in boost so gonna be hard to damage the engine. Load is low.

We are finally moved into our new shop, waiting for this car to arrive..

What sort of coating are you using in the housings?

If it's something like molykote, as it seems from the specs, then the price is very nice. Applying it in the right way is a pain.
