I just went to the dealer tonight and they told me there are no updates available from Mazda for the 2004 -8. Can anyone confirm this? I see that some are getting either map or firmware upgrades now.

I told Mazda that if I could get the part or service number from someone on the forum I would bring it in. They said that if I could do that, they might be able to help but are telling me right now that there is nothing they can do.

Anyone have any other info I can take to the dealership?

Thanks.

Jeff

Got the Nav s/w upgrade CD about a month ago in the mail, without asking. (I'll have to look for it, tho.) Snap to install. Includes an offer that expires on 12/31/05 of $50 off the @199 map update CD. The updated s/w has improved functionality, but what we really need is for the 5 year year old maps to be updated. $150 seem pretty steep, but so was the initial option cost. Beats the hardcopy Thomas Guides any day, when you think of the time savings and convenience benefits! Don't mind paying no slouch prices for a definitely no slouch car. hth

I have the update disk, i'm in san jose cali if anyone wants to use it.

NOTE: This is not the new maps disc, this is just an update to the software that adds some new features. I got it in the mail for my 6/03 2004 rx8.
