Hello Guys,

As usual, the Toronto Mazda 3 club is putting together the Meeting of Mazda's Event being held at its usual location (Bruce Mills Conservation Area in Stoufville) on September 20th. Probably at 10am I would say, no details yet but I will update.

As usual I believe there is a 5$/Person entry at the park, and I believe the rest of the event is free. Free BBQ, lots of games, and prizes.

Also they will be doing the award classes. I spoke with the organizer of the event. As of right now there will only be a rotary class. But if we can get 15 rx8's to come, we can get our own separate 1st, and 2nd place Rx8 award.

Awards aside, still a very fun event for all of us to get together and see eachother and have a good time.

New RX owner (like 10 days new) here. Would have loved to come out to meet the local crew but travel plans made before the car purchase mean it won't happen this time around. Hopefully next time.

 

LOL, can't even get 15 cars to come out.. what a joke... pretty funny.

 

@Footman, is the joke on me? lol I get more signup's for the spring meets. LOL

 

Mike, the joke is on the state of the RX8 community as a whole in the GTA area.... as the car continually ages, everything is dying.. support, parts, members, popularity (always living in the shadow of the RX-7)... 0 support from Mazda Canada cause they no longer sell the car so no point in spending marketting dollars (I understand part)... in general, everything is in decline with our car enthusiast base for the RX-8...

I'm just laughing at the patheticness and plight of our situation.

 

It happens to any generation of car that isn't continually updated by the manufacturer. That's just the way the story goes. You'll see it revive again when they make the next rotary vehicle.

Hopefully I'll be able to make it. I put aside that day to get the Miata looked at in terms of exterior paint. She hasn't been properly waxed over a year now. And I need the day to get her looking proper.

 

None of the east end guys want to come out? This is a good event, lots of Mazdas, BBQ, good space for games! This community can age all it wants, ill always have my 8! Its not worth selling for a couple grand these days. I just hope my engine lasts lol

 

I've seen so many people come and go in the rx8club over the past 8 years... it's just like a wave.. in a few years, it'll be another group of people cause the current group would have sold/abandonned the rx8 while I still have mine. Only a few select people truly will keep this car for life.

 

I count maybe 10 of us...lolz

 

While I don't have an RX-8, I still support the rotary community.
17yrs of ownership with the FD. So I've seen a number of 'waves" come and go...

 

Hey guys, I might be able to take part in this event. My Rusty is all banged up, so there's no point in taking part in the competition; however, if my wife and mine schedule frees up on Sunday I would like to come and support the community too.

Ive never been to any of these events before either, but it'd be nice to meet some of you folks for the first time!
