bouncing afs at cruise are normal--sensor is reading pockets of air very very fast.
Think about it.

I noticed that nobody is complaining about rich misfires at afr's at 10. I wonder if I'm the only one with the misfires and if my coils are weaker than everyone elses. I only have the misfires under really rich conditions.

Time for the Mazsport ignition solution

Hmmm, am I the only one with upgraded injectors from MazSport? The 650/290/780 setup...?

I don't understand this. Your car comes with 4 injectors that are larger than 290. So you got rid of those larger injectors and kept the 290? Then instead of using the small injectors for primary where it would allow you better control over idle, you used 650 cc injectors?

I think the 380/380/720 setup will be the most common.

No, not even close.

The point was to install an injector setup that would provide plenty of headroom to max out the Greddy and for future turbo upgrades as well.

BTW, it's easy to make a engine with 650cc primary's cruise, idle or drive at whatever AFR's you like! If the EMS has control of the injectors and the person tuning knows what their doing, no problem.

Optimally, you want the smallest injectors in the primary position.
After that, you can pretty much do what you want, but going up from smallest to largest in staging order is best.
Remember, with 650cc injectors at idle, you are going from a 4ms pulse to a 1.7ms pulse and this is barely more than the injector's latency!
The OE PCM has a very fine injector timing gradient, but when a hundredth of a millisecond of injector timing at idle is equal to over a point of lambda, you are really asking for a lot when you want 650cc injectors to be your primaries.

Since the acceptable target lambda at idle with the INT-X seems to be anywhere from 1.0 to .75 (!), saying that its "easy to make a engine with 650cc primary's cruise, idle or drive at whatever AFR's you like!" is pretty disingenuous.
Apparently "whatever AFR's you like" really means whatever AFRs the Int-X likes.

Would running a screen or two before the MAF make things more consistant?

So... I understand very little about all of this, but right now it runs perfect, very smooth, idles smooth, so this would be something the stock ECU is not programmed to deal with then? It's setup to use smaller to larger in other words?

Is there any fix or workaround for this injector setup?

It's just not ideal, because there isn't as fine grain control since the faucet is larger. If it's not causing problems, then there is no problem, right?

is everyone running the rx7 trailings sparkplugs with no washer on the lead and 2 washers on the trailing?
Curious what does a screen post maf do?
The oem pipe is tapered and it is NOT round---yall have noticed that ---right?
remember also now that yall are back on the maf system---system grounds become important and more of a factor than with the standalones.
Hint---the space in the rotor housing between were the lead sparkplug itselfs ends and the actual entry into the housing itself--approx 1/4 inch--CLEAN IT--its a haven for hot spots.

Did you just send me an e-mail about your injector sizes?

Remember - I have no idea who anyone is on this forum.
I keep asking for people to include ALL of their relevant info in every e-mail (REAL name, FORUM name, year/model/mods, if you live in Cali, etc.), but it doesn't seem to be happening.

Please, send all relevant info to ap@mazdamaniac otherwise you are yelling at the wind!

If anyone else is having problems with their stock greddy maf housing, i'm going to do a full DIY about how to fix it with the CAI that mysql used. This might safe Jeff the time of having to try and tune to make up for the not-optimal flow in the greddy maf setup.

That's excellent.
You are still using the GReddy MAF housing with that, though. Right?
Does that work?

i took out the stock greddy maf housing and am using the stock mazda ABS polymer housing! with two screens. it works a bit better but since this is going to eventually become a bottleneck and also cause tuning complications, i'd rather eliminate this bottleneck now and have optimal smooth airflow

We were talking back and forth via email, Edgar Arroyo, and all of the sudden ---------------- flatline, no more replies.... I will put my screen name, injectors, year and real name on the 1st line of the emails, ill re-send the ones I didn't get replies to. Sorry if you get 5 emails at a time.

You should be running the v3_5b as per the instructions.
Can you post a link to the instructions? I got the maps, uploaded them to the AP, still looking for the instructions here...
