Comparing the Mazda cleaner vs Seafoam, Seafoam actually worked a lot better for me. Just thought I would let you guys know.

I got next to no smoke. Smelled pretty nasty on the second squirt for each rotor. Seems to run a touch better though.
I used the Mazda cleaner at 95k miles and premixed 2-3 oz 2-stroke into 1-2 gallons in the tank for extra lube.
For those who got tons of smoke, did you put oil straight into the engine?

With the seafoam I did put 2 stroke oil directly into the engine to give it some instant lube when starting it for the first time. I had TONS of white smoke.

I got tons of white smoke the few times I've done it and I've never put oil directly into the motor, just my fuel. One thing I have noticed, I've done this to a few of my friends' cars and the Mazda cleaner doesn't seem to smoke, just smell. The seafoam smokes like crazy and smells, unless your motor's super clean or you have a clogged cat, didn't follow instructions, etc.

I have two vids, they both look like that and it's seafoam, not the zoom-zoom cleaner. Just my two cents.

^Did you try calling your local dealer since that is where you want to get it anyway?

I tried using that 0000-77-A86 part number with my local dealer, but that part number does not exist... I am wondering if it is a US only part number. If it is, then is there one for Canada? Coz I am living in Toronto, ON...

I wonder how many people still running a CAT thought about removing it before doing this.....where do you think all that junk once removed from the rotors is going to go to?

[quote=nycgps;2397259]18. Make sure no one is around, cuz its gonna smell. FIRE THE BABY UP ! At this time, you can let the engine suck about 1/8 cup of CLEAN ENGINE OIL or 2 Stroke oil premix into the nipple for extra lubrication. Its going to smell really bad and you'll see TONS of white smoke out of your exhaust ... See pictures.

i know it's newbie question, but how do i put engine oil into the nipple for extra lubrication? and do i have to do THIS prodecure?

I was just going to ask the same question. If i am not mistaken I think we are suppose to use the same nipples we just cleaned through.....Anyone have any input?

Yes, use the same nipples that you just used for cleaning. Some people even put a vacuum line on the nipples, and lead them to a cup of fresh 2 Cycle Oil (Idemitsu Pre-Mix).

Great diy write up. I'm due to follow this with Seafoam next week. I'm probably going to clean the maf and throttle opening while i have all the pieces off. Can't wait to feel the diff.

I just did this to my 04, 58k miles, new plugs, original coils, CAI (via the Seafoam method) and I must say AMAZING difference. I'd also recommend if you do this method to crank 2 times at maybe 7 seconds on the 1st nipple, as my bottle was almost empty when I switched to the 2nd nipple. So 7 sec, 7 sec, switch and repeat should empty it for both. (no CEL here!) I also found needle nose pliers work well on the eshaft sensor from above.

Funny story my apt manager was getting out of his SUV right as it was smoking like HELL, he was like "how long is that gonna smoke for?" and I said "oh, just a minute I'm running an intake cleaner" I had to drive it around the back to finish the revving. lol

Just curious as my sensor plug is blocked my my S/C and its a hella pain to remove the belt fastener/ intake piping and everything.

Can i just pull the fuel injection fuse? Like how i normally do when deflooding?

When should one do this? I know some say only when you're getting CEL's and experiencing problems. But what about as a general maintenance guideline? I'm at 80,000 km (50,000 miles). No idle problems, no CELs..

New coils/plugs/wires done at 72,000 km.

Power, whether it's reduced or not, could also be a placebo effect or butt-dyno thing. I don't have anyway of saying there is significant powerloss, as sometimes I may simply just have gotten used to the car's power.

You can do this whenever you want. Use an ounce or 2 of oil per rotor when you start it up and all should be well.
