The shifter gets hot, not shure how hot, but my guess would be at least 80° C. I once removed mine after the car had cooled down for more than an hour and guess who almost burned his fingers. Just think of our cup heaters and guess the temperature in the area where the shifter resides.

Yes the shifter is done. There are a limited amount left from the first batch and the next will be two weeks or less. We have not built enough to fill the pipeline so the only way to market them right now is direct. Therefore we are not advertising them yet.

^^ So by "direct" does that mean those of us who asked to be in the queue? Essentially, when will I be able to know the price and buy one?

Guys less than a dozen from the first batch made it through Richard's QA process, that's the reason for the slight delay in supply. Not enough supply to meet the demand. He is producing more right now. The shifters are being modded after having gone through in-car testing.....you WILL be happy with the end product. The mods produce a shifter that's easier to install, and other slight structural changes will improve functionality and comfort.

Hang in there, final pricing and shipping is not far away now.....

Gomez.

Here are some pics of Richards shifter installed in my car. Just put it in today. Notice how low it sits.. For me this is absolutely perfect! The ergonomics of it make shifting even easier. The throws of Richards shifter are noticably shorter than the Mazdaspeed Short Shifter I had in my car previously. Many Kudos go to Richard for designing a top notch product! Go get this one guys, it's worth it!!

Looks nice. It looks like the numbers are are the type that illuminate when you turn on your lights. Is this true or does it just look like that? If it is true does it take some extra install to hook up?

What was it that Richard was saying about making it stock height? I thought he was going to make it with shorter throws along with the shifter actually sit lower?

^^^ What he said. It's just another part that I had to jury rig in order for it to work correctly.. but that's something that's been covered on another thread already.

It does look nice though. So this setup is more ergonomically comfortable then? I had such a hard time getting used to this shifter when it was stock.. My brother's mini has a huge ball shifter on it and it feels better, honestly..

The throws are much much shorter than stock. They are even shorter than the MazdaSpeed Short Shifter that I USED to use.. until now Thanks Richard It also sits about 5mm shorter than stock.

Yes, it feels much more natural. I don't even have to lift up my elbow to shift anymore. Now it's just a flick of the wrist and the shift is done.
