Gomez, what do you want me to do, insult them.
I'm happy to tell them how much, once they find me they must want it bad enough.
On top of that I must be doing something right as I just sold 7 today. The most ever in a day. Do you know if Hymee got his yet?

If this keeps up it could even help fund the SC development. Wouldn't that be something? In fact if it keeps up I'll be out again and need to run another batch.
Been working on the S2k unit, hope that is ready this month. I'll run both of those together. I wonder what it feels like to have a production shop.

got the price from pm. i think i owe you two bucks. i can send it to you or i will enclose an extra fifty if you get the afs done soon.

you know what i do for a living now. i tip my mechanics, just prefer to do it myself. i find that i do a better job than the people at the dealership.

great to hear they are selling well.

Anyway, the cost is $249.00 plus $12.00 S&H in the lower 48. Calif customers pay 8.25 tax

They are on the shelf and going fast. I don't think we will allow them to run out. This time I'll start the production run sooner. I can't promise anything though as it is before lunch on Monday and I have sold four already.

Yes I know what you do for a living and it makes me wonder how you have time to work on your car. With all that tourist ***** coming by with only two nights away from home to have a good time. You'll be dead by 40.

btw, Richard's shifter looks and works great with the ARC Titanium ball ****. it's actually considerably easier to find the gates with the entire shifter assembly being metal (spare the bushings). this combo increased this cars fun factor 10x!

Removal of the rubber isolator has it's benefits, like a machine like engagement as I posted above. But the isolator also isolates a bit of gear noise from the cabin. For some reason I can't ascertain, fourth gear transmits a little whine into the cabin while driving. The other gears are fine AOK.......
I posted the above in late January. The gear whine, while not that loud, bothered a few people. Some noticed it in second gear as well. LittleJohn from the Oz forum has found a way to significantly reduce the level of gear noise transmitted into the cabin.

Unclip the upper cover and remove the green cotton wadding from under the shift boot. Reduces the gear noise by about 60%, IMO.

Well done, LittleJohn!

Cheers,
Gomez.

Just purchased my shift kit online half an hour ago. Can't wait to feel the difference, it will be my first mod

I'm about to order a voodoo shift ****. Can anybody make a recommendation between the Standard 1-7/8" and the Magnum?

I was going to put a shifter in my own car today but went to the dyno and now i;m pissed. I feel like giving it back. 156 hp, great!
All seems OK untill about 6200 then the power goes away.
I thought it felt funny but not having much time with any others I had nothing to go by. I assume this has not happened to anyone else??

They don't make the standard size anymore. At least that is what I heard. It's only about 3mm difference.

Did you get a 4 port or something? Mine pulled about 177HP at the wheels "stock". It has been up as high as 200.

Don't forget they are not easy to dyno with the ABS/TC ECU seeing the rear wheels are spinning and the front ones are not.

Did you get the ABS/TC warning light?

Cheers,
Hymee.

And you think I was looking for Torque oon Sunday!
Yes the little light was on that tells me the traction control is off. I held the button down for 10 seconds until the light came on. Is that not right?

Any idea where it is so I can tell the dealer. So he can tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. Or then there is the standard "they are all like that"
How about "it's not broken in yet"

I've seen several posts referring to the car "learning" so that might very well be the cause since you've only got 700 something miles on it so far.

Gomez, LittleJohn, or whomever, How can removing the green cotton help reduce gear noise? Wouldn't we want more insulation of some kind to minimize noise coming through the shifter? I don't know, just curious.

I believe it works by allowing the shifter to rest free of pressure supplied when the **** is screwed up tight against the shift boot. This pressure holds the shifter against the selector in the top of the box and transmits gear noise into the cabin. You'll notice that resting your hand on the shifter when driving increases the gear noise in a similar way.

Removing the wadding and unscrewing the **** a little allows the shifter to find a static stability, free of forces holding it against the selector.

I know it seems bizarre....but it works.

I can back up the less noise claim. It is much quieter with the wadding gone...and the **** a little less screwed in. Probably changes the pressure on the shifter and changes the harmonics as well??
