If this keeps up it could even help fund the SC development. Wouldn't that be something? In fact if it keeps up I'll be out again and need to run another batch.
Been working on the S2k unit, hope that is ready this month. I'll run both of those together. I wonder what it feels like to have a production shop.

you know what i do for a living now. i tip my mechanics, just prefer to do it myself. i find that i do a better job than the people at the dealership.

Yes I know what you do for a living and it makes me wonder how you have time to work on your car. With all that tourist ***** coming by with only two nights away from home to have a good time. You'll be dead by 40.

btw, Richard's shifter looks and works great with the ARC Titanium ball ****. it's actually considerably easier to find the gates with the entire shifter assembly being metal (spare the bushings). this combo increased this cars fun factor 10x!

I was going to put a shifter in my own car today but went to the dyno and now i;m pissed. I feel like giving it back. 156 hp, great!
All seems OK untill about 6200 then the power goes away.
I thought it felt funny but not having much time with any others I had nothing to go by. I assume this has not happened to anyone else??
They don't make the standard size anymore. At least that is what I heard. It's only about 3mm difference.

Did you get a 4 port or something? Mine pulled about 177HP at the wheels "stock". It has been up as high as 200.
Don't forget they are not easy to dyno with the ABS/TC ECU seeing the rear wheels are spinning and the front ones are not.
Did you get the ABS/TC warning light?

Yes the little light was on that tells me the traction control is off. I held the button down for 10 seconds until the light came on. Is that not right?
Any idea where it is so I can tell the dealer. So he can tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. Or then there is the standard "they are all like that"

Gomez, LittleJohn, or whomever, How can removing the green cotton help reduce gear noise? Wouldn't we want more insulation of some kind to minimize noise coming through the shifter? I don't know, just curious.

I believe it works by allowing the shifter to rest free of pressure supplied when the **** is screwed up tight against the shift boot. This pressure holds the shifter against the selector in the top of the box and transmits gear noise into the cabin. You'll notice that resting your hand on the shifter when driving increases the gear noise in a similar way.
Removing the wadding and unscrewing the **** a little allows the shifter to find a static stability, free of forces holding it against the selector.
I know it seems bizarre....but it works.

I can back up the less noise claim. It is much quieter with the wadding gone...and the **** a little less screwed in. Probably changes the pressure on the shifter and changes the harmonics as well??
