The 11th should be a good turn out...this is the last "warm up" prior to the Pro solo....

...I'm interested in taking some notes at the event...I would like to see some additional EVO setups...most importantly, that white Evo that won Nationals in BSP last year....this would give Jessie, Casey and I some ideas on EVO setups. Really interested to see the times he pulls in as well.

He's registered for CSM on the 11th...so no stomping at this point....different story at the Pro though....we'll just have to make sure we finish infront of the Supra.

maybe he intends to do some additional mods....maybe internals? Maybe he is planning on racing CSM the whole year, and doesn't want to waste points in a class (BSP) that he won't be competing in all year.???? Just a thought.

Because Bill Hogan talks trash on the solo2.com forum about how he is so fast in his Honda, so a number of people are taking "slower" than CSM cars in there to whoop him.

Keep in mind Marshall is not going to be the fast one in the Evo. Watch Pax and Tom Berry.

Not for me it doesn't. If you want to see the Jasons take 1 and 2, watch the San Diego National Tour the weekend before the Pro Solo.

I'm not giving up on the RX8, just having some fun in the Lotus. The tour means more to me than the Pro, especially with the Pro Solo series being hacked up this year.

rotorlution would be for rotary powered cars....Casey and Jessie may need to come up with something new for an Evo group....maybe pistonlution...or Evolution (wait.....now that wouldn't work).

Looks like Jennifer and I will be cleaning the course in heat 1, Pax, on Sunday. I picked up an extra project I need to get done by Monday, so I need to get home early.

Bring lots of water, it is going to be hot in the afternoon.

I guess no fun runs in the national champ car then eh? Better not be too hot, I've been getting away with no sunscreen at the SD events... Fontana sucks.

Jesse has a couple of questions (and he cant get online a tthe moment) about BSP.

Can you install a Factory EVO ix wing on his car that did not come with a wing? (my guess is yes since we can put factory RX-8 wings)

Can you do the same with the air diffuser that goes on the roof that only came on the MR?

Can you replace the stock tail light with stock JDM tail lights that are not as blingy? (my guess is no on this one as they are not U.S. factory tail lights)

Can he put 2 piece rotors on?

Can he put a down piipe and full exhaust as long as he leaves the cat?

Can he reflash the computer?

can he turn up boost?

............... I think that was it...... for now.

oh yeah.... replaced the super duper crazy synthetic AMSOIL with the normal synthetic AMSOIL...... problem seems to have gone away.

Keith, I know your not interested, but he did offer to replace your fluid to. just thought you would want to know.

He can use the wing from another Evo.
He can use the MR diffuser.
The rules do not specifically allow JDM lights, however 13.2.a allows:
Accessories, gauges, indicators, lights and other appearance,
comfort and convenience modifications which have no effect on
performance and/or handling and do not materially reduce the
weight of the car are permitted.
So as long as they weigh the same or more bling is ok.
No two piece rotors. He can have cross-drilled and/or slotted stock one piece replacements.
Exhaust is wide open you can do anything, header, down pipe, pull the cat, all of it. The only part you can not touch is the turbo and housing.
ECU is open, reflash, piggy back, stand alone system.
Boost is open.
Again the BOV is not legal.

imho this is a dumb way to go.... If you want to run at the front you are looking at $10k easy. To run the Evo at the top in STU would be about $5k. To run at the top of AS about $2k.

You could always get the fluid from him and the next time I do a swap I'll just use that instead of paying for new jugs of RP.

I think he wants to race with us...also, I know Jessie, and there is no way that he will just replace struts...I see at least spring swap, if not Coilovers...so this kicks him out of AS....but still could race with all the STU-barus and save some money on tires...but then again, his Advans looked really bad afer only one event, and he said something about them being about 300 a piece? 17 inch race tires would only run him 230/231 depending on whether he would get 285 or 295's.

Its usually not a sun burn, but a fricken wind burn and chapped lips..yes, Fontana can suck.....would you say SD's pavement is bad, compared to Fontana?

It's like having my own thinking talking rule book.... it's awsome!

that is so funny.
Stand alone.... ok
as much boost as you want..... ok
any exhaust you want.... ok
blow off valve...... NO!

he he he....
I think you need to become the new rule maker. (I am pretty sure you would make them more "normal"

at least he can do the wing and other non performance stuff. (as long as it is not an aftermarket wing or bling)

Thanks Isley!

and yeah, he wants to run with us.... he is really not worried about points at this time.

he already ordered drop springs. they will be in the car tommorow. (along with his exhaust)

No -camber on a nose heavy pig with a newbie behind the wheel will kill any tires.

If he ran STU he would be limited to 245 tires, 2wd cars get the 275s.

The hot setup for a BSP Evo is 18X10 front, 18X9ish rear with 285s all the way around... What do you think that will cost.

Ummmm yeah... I already am. I am the Sopac rep for the Solo Events Board, we make the Natls rules. I also work with the stock and kart classes. Unfortunately I am only one person and a committee makes the decisions as a group.

So sell me on it..... Why should SCCA allow BOVs in SP? What good does it do for autox? This is hypothetical of course, if you want a actual rule change you have to write to SCCA.
