Again, TRUE....TRUE, and TRUE.

"Beat down" is just another way of saying "a learning experience". I'm ready for my education.

When it comes to your first big event it would not matter how well setup your car is and how there you think you are, it is a reality check. Wait till your first trip to Natls....

yeah, reality checks are nice every now and then. you hearn that there are always bigger fish in the sea.

When my dad used to race, there were always the local track "heros" (at least when he stuck to one track... before he started touring) then when someone would get a hair up their butts and come down to lay the smack down on the "heros" it was a wake up call for the locals.

example, when we ran the late model still (local track only, this was before we had the truck that we toured with) we were a solid mid pack to front runner car. there were a couple guys that we raced that were consistantly front runners. then Chris Trickle (RIP) would come down and just kill us all.

oh yeah.... that just happend.

This BS with all these stupid clubs and their power plays is ridiculous. The way they split the SCCA region up into all these little clubs is just asking for trouble. All they have done is taken the good core group of workers and spread it super thin. They can not even put on the next event unless they change some of the worker chiefs, some of the ones they have listed are not SCCA members which is required.

(sorry I dont know how SCCA runs, we have run with them in the past, but we were a visiting body with out own sanction (NASCAR) )

In most regions you just have SCCA as the club hosting the events. Lets say you have 20 core workers, these are the people that know how to do everything and do the bulk of the work. Now you have a region that splits off into five little clubs because they are all greedy and want to fight for control and money. Well now you take that same group of 20 core workers and spread them over the clubs and you end up with a club putting on an event that only has 5 core workers that know what they are doing. In an extreme case like PFM you don't even have enough people in your "club" that are SCCA members to fill key worker positions that are required by SCCA.

What is really frustrating about the PFM deal is most of those guys qualify for the SCCA first gear program and only pay a fraction of the membership dues as the rest of us and yet they don't bother to join.

Ike already got me in another forum....I was like, why does he have Mikeb's avatar....and I dind't even think Ike was "100% Italian"...yeah, back to our normal discussions.

Speed, that has to be an error, there is no way that the four of us will be covering that entire feild of cones. Is Mischelle still not going to race on the 11th. I don't know if ERica is or not.

I was starting to think I was driving to slow to wear out a set of tires....
It only took 200 street miles, one track day and 60 autox runs to cord them.

Now I know where my push came from today on my last couple of runs.

Was there a PCA event? It sucks having these 3 week breaks in between events. Guess we'll make up for it in March-April.

Just had to chime in here. I won the B Stock event at Qualcomm Stadium last weekend in my '05 RX-8. It was my first autocross event and I feel extremely lucky (so don't go thinking I'm boasting here). I had an incredibly fun time, though, so it was all worth while.

Hehe, be prepared for a wake up call.

I usually run my RX-8 in BS, but was co-driving the orange Elise in SS last event. Do you plan to be out there a lot this year? I should be driving the 8 at the next practice in March.
