Doing that will make you syncros last longer since you're basically not using them.

Unlike some folks here, I like the looks of the new Civic just fine. It's pretty futuristic looking, I think, like it's some sort of spaceship.

But comparing it to the 8? Sure, if you want better gas mileage, get the Civic, but I don't see how it compares to the RX8 in any other way (okay, based on what other folks are saying, it sounds like straight-line acceleration might be comparable).

Right on. The windshield is amazing. I love it. It really feels like a cockpit. But yes, I wouldnt really compare the two as a whole.

There's no doubt the Civic Si is a good car and the sedan clearly looks better than the coupe. Not big on the interior design but the exterior looks really fresh and modern when I see it on the road. This car performs well in all categories for what it is and it's ashamed that just because its called a Civic that it comes with an immediate ricer image or whatever to some people.

VW's are mad expensive because of the weakness of the dollar now. Company pretty much admitted it.

DUDE i went to this autox event and there was this little civic hatch

Completely gutted!
Just one racing seat!
It had fully tuned racing suspension

He was beating all these GTO's, STI's and bmws

he won first place in his group i forgot what group it was..
when we went up to him and were like what do you have under the hood he simple smiled and opened to show us his stock block.. with minor modification to his head..

he said that he could practically stay on the gas the whole time that his car was not fast. all those cars couls smoke him in the straights but his car handles FAAr superior to all the others he didnt need power int he twisties..

RULE TO BE LEARNED!

*Civics to can be tuned to handle

*It doesnt matter If rx8's cant beat every car int he straights they can probably out handle them

* Respect others decisions and dont bash them just. simply help them make a better decision next time If in your "Opinion" they did a bad one

Yeah, I'll probably cross my Si later this year. We shall see... I may take both cars... who knows. Maybe I'll sell my RX-8 by then.

Werd. The Fed needs to raise some interest rates. That's mostly the reason why gas is so much, too.

That's only a relatively small part of it. The price of crude has gone up 5- or 6-fold since 2001.

yep gas is sure getting expensive.. and people do need it to get to work and etc..

i beleive gas is 3.73
for supreme down here in texas..

there was this gas station selling gas for 2.20 something a gallon it was a valero..
a church had donated 4K dollars to help out the community and lower gas prices... there were people waiting in line..

like seriously gas isnt to the point where you have to camp out as if you were waiting the arrival of a ps4 or something!

i work at an Acura dealership and there are a couple of salespeople who want to race me in there SI's. I did some research online and hear is what i found:

RX-8 0-60times
5.8 0-60times.com
5.9 jackunioncorp.com
6.6 carleasingblog.com
6.3 caranddriver.com
6.6 autosmsn.com
5.9 seriouswheels.com

Average Time 6.186

Honda Civic SI
6.8 wikipedia
6.8 carreview.com
8.4 thetruthaboutcars.com
7.2 Edmunds
7.2 0-60times.com

Average Time 7.294

The RX8 is over a full second faster than the SI, and in 0-60 terms that is an eternity. The SI is not even in the same class of vehicle, granted you dont get an rx8 to drag race, but even then the results speak for themselves. Needless to say I told my SI co-workers to find one person in the world (third party) to say that there car was faster than mine and i would oblige them in a race. they have yet to come forward.

The RX8 is a better handling car but a comparison is only as good as the driver. I have seen many SI's eat people up on the autocross course. Both cars have their advantages and disadvantages. I just hate it when people just label FWD as lame. I know of many fast FWD track cars. Just take any circuit and look at the lap records in terms of drivetrain. The FWD cars are right up there. But, a Civic is still a Civic. In addition, interms of 1/4 mile times, I have seen tons of RX8's run low 15's with a couple k in mods. The RX8 is not and easy car to wring out. But really the comparison is bunk.
