RX8 and the New Civic

Okay the RX8 dyno's with 180rwhp right? And so does the new civic Si. So what then makes the RX8 that much faster on the track? Is it the front vs rear wheel drive?

Um whats so wrong about it? Its a serious question. The only thing the RX8 has over the civic on the dyno is torque. Unless you consider the higher rev. They weigh about the same. And I am referring to the 1/4 track

if your asking about 1/4 times your going to get answers like that..haha but as far as track times are concerned, you will get better answers.

1/4 mile "track" is not a track....

civic and rx8 are not drag cars...

this is not a game... whp does not mean everything..

don't ever again compare civics and rx8

If you need to ask these questions, get the civic... you dont deserve an 8.

And the new Civic Si produces 197 CHP, not WHP.... so the 8 still wins.... and has FARRRRR better handling, looks, size, and the ladies love it...

And its RWD, not FWD....

why people always have to compare our 8's to some other car? can you just embrace the 8 for what it is?

The RX-8 makes more peak power. It has more average power. It's a better handling car. It's a better braking car. It's a better all around performance vehicle. That's why it's faster on the track. The civic will go farther on a tank of gas but that's it's only advantage.

The new civic si gets owned pretty badly by the rx8 on the freeway.

after 80 the civic should start looking for the nearest off ramp.

It's very shortsighted to think the only thing that matters for a car's speed is power.

Just because I'm bored...

My friend has a new SI and as far as power stock/stock...2nd we start to pull away at WOT and when I hit third I walk away from the SI. Not a bad car for the $, but I would choose the 8 any day.

If I couldn't afford an 8 or Mx5 I'd get the si, but FWD sucks.

My .02

Later!

8"s are going for 22k or so brand new with the current rebates. It's actually cheaper then the MX-5 or the Civic Si.

I would never get the Civic Si over the RX8. I was just curious why the RX8 is faster with roughly the same whp. Thats all. I LOVE the RX8. Its the only car I keep coming back to and wanting.
